Panthers shock the Rams. Around a 40 point swing from their regular season meeting.

Raceland escapes in overtime

I heard it was the opposite?

Can someone confirm?

KHSAA scoreboard has Pikeville winning.

Pikeville did win.

Pikeville won 26-20 according to a couple sites

Pikeville won and Maynard/Sammons got outcoached, big time!!!

Go Panthers! Coach McNamee and staff obviously did a great job considering the turnaround in score from regular season.

Great game by Pikeville. Hats off to Coach McNamee and his staff, they made some great adjustments from the regular season and simply out coached Raceland.

Hate to read this, I was really hoping to see Raceland get revenge on Fairview next week and have a shot to move on to Bowling Green.

Did the Rams get caught looking forward?

Raceland held a 12-0 lead until 33.7 seconds left in the 3rd qtr when Pikeville was able to punch it in. The ensuing kickoff was a squib kick that went off 2 Raceland players and was recovered by Pikeville and they were able to punch it in early in the 4th qtr for a 13-12 lead. The ensuing kickoff again was a squib kick that was mishandled by 3 Raceland players and was recovered by Pikeville. They had the ball first and goal on the 9 but Raceland held and Pikeville settled for a FG attempt that hit the left bar leaving the game 13-12 with under 9 min to go. The teams traded punts and Raceland started it's drive on the Pikeville 41 after a nice return from Connor Messer. Daylin Beach scored with about 1:35 left in the game and we executed the 2 pt conversion and went up 20-13. Then the first play from scrimmage for Pikeville was a WR screen to the left and the receiver took it 70 yards for the score. Then Pikeville held Raceland in OT on 4th and inches and scored on the first play they ran. Pikeville just wanted it more than us in the second half. I do not think we were out coached or out played. The 2 squib kicks altered momentum and altered the course of the season for Raceland. If we recover 1 or both kicks, we are playing Fairview this week. But, as they say, that is why you play the game on the field and not on paper.
