November 7, 201213 yr Interesting read in the paper today. Though it failed, they still have plans to build the new building. They may have to cut service or close an existing building but are looking into doing it regardless. Guess they didn't need that 27% tax hike and the employees don't get their 14% raise.

I had heard from someone a few weeks ago that it really didn't matter how the vote went, they would probably still be building the library.

November 7, 201213 yr Not a Campbell Countian (unless you count the fact that Pendleton County spends like they think they're Campbell County), but I did wonder how this would turn out. A lot of political signs related to the issue on US 27.

November 8, 201213 yr I voted against it as well, I think there are enough Libraries in the area within driving distance. I think the Library is a great resource but man they tax the crap out of us already for the Library.

November 8, 201213 yr The new library would cost $1,000,000 a year to Campbell County residents. Only people south of Alexandria would use the new library. Library usage is down around 20%, take out movie and game rentals, it's down way more than that. The internet, Ipads, Kindles, ect. where you can get books on line have had a huge impact on libraries.
