I don't typically agree with these talking heads, but I agree with the assessment I've heard multiple times that no one has been given a mandate, because nothing has essentially changed tonight. John King basically just said the same thing on CNN.
November 7, 201213 yr This made my 11th presidential election that I've voted, and I admit I sure miscalulated this one. I guess I watch too much FoxNews. Romney's probably going to win the popular vote, if that's any consolidation to him. More people in the nation didn't want Obama to be president than did. But that's happened in others presidential elections and it's the system we use.
November 7, 201213 yr I believe this country needs term limits. Turn these offices over and stop building mini fiefdoms for these Senators and Reps. Give Senators 2 terms and Reps 6 terms, then turn them over.
November 7, 201213 yr Author 225,000 vote advantage nationally for Romney. 67% in. I think California will tip the scales to the President, and quite frankly, I hope so. We don't need a different winner in Popular & Electoral voting.

November 7, 201213 yr Author The economy was the #1 issue. Romney was perceived to be strong on the economy--stronger than Obama in a lot of public opinion polls. Yet he still couldn't unseat the President.

November 7, 201213 yr I'm always amazed at the immediate overreaction from both sides when the election results have been determined. We as a country have gone through this how many times? Yet we always survive and the country never gets to the "near death" level that many immediately predict. Come on. We didn't elect a king. Our system works. President Bush wasn't evil. President Obama isn't evil.
