"Smittys on Elm" in Ludlow

Featured Replies

I have had the pleasure of eating at "Smittys on Elm" in Ludlow on a couple of occassions this past week and have come away very satisfied. The restaurant is owned by Ludlow native and current Ft Mitchell resident Rick Smith. "Smittys" has a wide variety of items on their menu. They have several specialty burgers that are prepared by Chef Eric and they are all very good. I recently had a goetta burger with cheese and a fried egg that was delicious. Their fries are excellent and the chili is very meaty and tasty. On another occassion I had a BLT that had an ample amount of bacon on it that was freshly prepared and not some bacon that was fried early that morning. I haven't tried it yet but the specialty of the house is the Smitty Dog. A huge Nathans hotdog with bacon wrapped around it and deep fried. Add a variety of toppings and you have yourself a Smitty Dog. Nice clean atmosphere with a lot of really nice people to visit with. Did I mention you can also get a beer there. Stop by "Smittys on Elm" and have a very enjoyable dining experience.

I went there when it first opened and it was very tasty. Cool little place. Good neighborhood place.

I do want to get back and try the burgers.

Mr. Smith is truly a top notch guy. I'm sure everything on his menu was "the best thing he's ever eaten" at one point or another. I'm not surprised to hear that he's doing things right with his resturant.

I will have to stop in, thanks for the info!!

Knowing Rick, I will have to give the place a try soon, but that means I will have to go into the "little city" and as a kid who grew up in the big city....well....you understand Zig! :thumb:

It's going to kill me but for Rick I will venture into Ludlow..... :D

Is this the same Rick Smith that used to be the Police Chief in Park Hills?

Nope. I believe he was the Special Education Director at Ludlow.

Then there is a chance I'll visit.

:ylsuper:Not the former Chief of Police in Park Hills. He currently still is the Special Education Director at Ludlow Schools.

I will definitely try this out, thanks for the tip.

I had the smitty's dog or whatever it's called. Very good, but so big you basically had to cut it up with a knife and fork. I'll go back.
