I had the smitty's dog or whatever it's called. Very good, but so big you basically had to cut it up with a knife and fork. I'll go back.

Rick Smith was inducted in the NKYFL Football Hall of Fame this past year. One thing about Rick that makes me very proud is when we were in High School (Rick) at Ludlow and I (Lloyd) he won the Ky State Thats My Boy Award a very prestigious (sp) award for a senior Ky High School athelete. JD

Rick is a great guy & I am mad at myself for not getting over there yet. He puts on a pretty good concert too!

"The Boss and I both had Burgers. I had the Blue Cheese and "The Boss" had the bacon cheese both were served fresh, hot and tasty. The Fries were hot, crispy and very good but what we both really and I mean really loved, were the Fried Pickles.

 

Instead of Fried Pickles slices that usually tend to be greasy, these were Pickle spears/wedges/quarter cut and were not greasy at all and in fact were outstanding, the best I have every had and it was the first time I have eaten them served this way.

 

I did see Rick and we had a nice visit and I did mention you to him Big Zig. The best part of the evening other than the food and the chat with Rick, was I came in and got out of the "Little City" alive! :lol:

 

I promised Rick that we would be back and we will, good food, served hot and fresh and it didn't break the bank!

OK, I think I'll head there here in a few, TOG's review sold me, so this rest squarely on his shoulders. :bunny:

Went down there this afternoon, nice clean little place. As TOG mentioned, the fried pickles were different but nice, blue cheese on the burger was very flavorful, and the fries were good. I like how they have the TV's up and had TBS on while I was there, can't ask for anything more when American Dad is on TV. After I ate the dessert I had to hurry up out of there, I was afraid I would order a few more. I recommend the peanut butter chocolate pie, fantastic!

Stopped in Smittys today and had the Breakfast Burger. 1/4 pound burger with cheese, bacon and a fried egg. Topped it off with onion and mayo and it was very good. Also had the chili and it was excellent.

I went to Smitty's a couple of weeks ago and had his signature dog and it was very good! The staff was pleasant & the place was clean as a whistle. Will definitely return. Gonna take my bball team there after we play Lulow on a Saturdai in January.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Smittys is now open for breakfast Monday thru saturday. Stop down and visit Rick and Chef Eric and get your day started off right with a delicious breakfast for a very reasonable price. I ate there this morning and it was very good. Cya there!

Not a fan. Was in there back in June. Burger lacked taste. Hockey puck. Two guys working 8 people in the place, took 40 minutes. Maybe just a bad experience but won't be veering off anytime soon.
