You are making my own point. You talk about how say Florida and Georgia lost to top ten teams. But guess what South Carolina would not even be in the top 10 if Georgia had beaten them. So if Georgia had beaten them and South Carolina not in the top ten, does that make South Carolina average like people like to say about the teams Notre Dame beat after they win? What about if Florida had beaten Georgia, Georgia would not be in the top 10 anymore either. Would that have just made the Florida win against Georgia just an average win if they had beaten them? It is hate on Notre Dame when you act like this about it. Both Oklahoma and Stanford would be top 10 teams if they had beaten Notre Dame and people would be considering them very good teams just like South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, etc. However since it was Notre Dame who beat them, now people like you say well they were just average. Yet South Carolina, Florida, Georgia get credit for LOSING? When if they had beaten the teams they lost to, those teams wouldn't be in the top 10 either. So yeah your theory on this is way out of place.

 

I know those other teams in the top 10 are also very good teams, never said they weren't. However they have not shown anything more to say that they are better. Its like your basically saying they get credit for LOSING. While Notre Dame does not get credit, because they beat some teams that made those teams not top 10 anymore. Then your whole common opponent crap has been shown to be the most worthless stat in the history of college football because that has been shown to prove nothing once teams actually play. As for you saying Notre Dame has had tough games you are right. They have looked just like LSU has all year, and does nothing pretty. Which we seen last night even though they didn't look like great against lesser teams, they had the type of style to play with Bama. Which Notre Dame's defense is up there with LSU this year. I don't think LSU would have even beaten Oklahoma.

Yes all their losses are to top 10 teams, but they all have wins over top 10 teams too, something Notre Dame doesn't have. You refuse to even acknowledge how multiple times they've barely escaped against inferior opponents.

Notre Dame should have handled them, but they didn't. It is what it is. Bottom line is they won and are 9-0. Lots of title teams have games like this (Ohio State in 02 had a few)... But they found a way to win when they shouldn't have. We had a freshman QB and freshman WR make some big plays. ND isn't supposed to be where they are right now, they are still suppose to be "a few years away"... Which must suck for ND haters..

You are delusional if you think this is all Notre Dame hate. LSU's defense is still a mile ahead of Notre Dame's who on Notre Dame's schedule is close to LSU? I don't like to compare scores because it's not the best indicator but the one common opponent of the Alabama and Notre dame is Michigan. ND beat them by 7 at home, Alabama beat them 27 on a neutral field. And you say not one of them has done more to deserve it, Florida's only loss is to a top 10 opponent on a neutral field in a close game. How high would Georgia be if they hadn't lost to top 10 South Carolina? How high would Florida be if they hadn't lost to top 10 Georgia? Why is it you can play the Oklahoma and Stanford would be ranked whatever and then say Georgia and Florida haven't been as impressive? Notre Dame hasn't played one current top 10 team, the one cupcake game a year an SEC team plays does not all of the sudden make Notre Dame's schedule so much better. BYU, Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt, Purdue, Navy, Miami are all average to below average opponents. And Notre Dame has struggled in most of those games, Pitt isn't a fluke bad game. They beat BYU at home by 3, beat Michigan at home by 7, and beat Purdue at home by 3. Purdue is 3-6 on the year, their 3 wins are EKU, Marshall, and Eastern Michigan. BYU is 5-4 with wins over powerhouses such as Washington State, Weber State, Hawaii, Utah State, and Georgia Tech. So no Notre Dame has not done anything that impressive this year, and Bama would destroy them if they played.

At this point of the year, they just need to stay undefeated and let the chips fall as they may. If they win by 60 or 70, they will still only move up past K State. An undefeated Oregon or Alabama can not be leap frogged, no matter what ND's margin of victory is.

Probably. A big win over Pitt would have helped but the bigger problem for them was USC losing. A win there will now not help them as much. Not sure what ranked teams Oregon and K State have left to play.

I can't imagine this is going to win me a ton of friends, but I don't see a lot of daylight between this ND team and UofL.

 

I think both are young and rather lucky to be where they are right now, and neither would be much competition for Bama or the Ducks. It's too bad that both teams would be at-large selections, I'd like Louisville to have a shot at ND. If it came down to the wire, I promise Teddy wouldn't choke like Sunseri.
