ND is over-rated!!!!!

So is U of L.

I can't imagine this is going to win me a ton of friends, but I don't see a lot of daylight between this ND team and UofL.

 

I think both are young and rather lucky to be where they are right now, and neither would be much competition for Bama or the Ducks. It's too bad that both teams would be at-large selections, I'd like Louisville to have a shot at ND. If it came down to the wire, I promise Teddy wouldn't choke like Sunseri.

 

If they played, I'd give the edge to Teddy B. and the Cards.

Louisville's a lot closer to being correctly rated than the Domers, as they borh realistically should be sharing real estate about 14th & 15th.

Come on? Who has KState beaten? Who was their marquis win? OU? Same as Notre Dame. There are only 2 teams in the country that you can truly say are heads and shoulders above ND and that is Oregon and Alabama. LSU is close, but they have absolutely no QB play. Florida? Florida State? They are bigger recent names, but they are not, in terms of on the field product, better than what ND has.

I think if you just watch the teams play it's pretty obvious KState is better than the Irish.

 

I think 10-12 is probably the right range for ND to really be ranked.

 

Regardless it won't matter because Bama, KState, and Oregon are all going undefeated.

K-State is coming off a two touchdown win over a ranked opponent where their star quarterback was knocked out of the game. Do you really want to go there after ND needed a complete collapse from Pitt to pull a win out at home?

Maybe we will find out in a bowl. ND is coming off a bad week, but they did just win in Norman 2 weeks ago by 17.... So show me a game on the Cards schedule that is half as big as that one.

 

I understand a lot of people just say stuff to get a rise out of ND fans, and it works. I also understand that some people hate ND more than they like their team, and for that, I feel sorry for you.

 

That being said... ND is 9-0 with a Frosh QB who has shown big play ability but is still learning. What other undefeated team has a rookie QB? And considering the defenses he has faced, there should be at least a little credit given to EG. They also have 2 Frosh WR's (Daniels and Brown) who have made some HUGE plays and will only get better. Sophomore RB Attinkson is one of the fastest players in the country. Behemoth Troy Niklas is going to be the next big TE out of TE U. He switched from DE and is still learning the position but at 6'7 260...Good luck...

 

On defense they have great seniors in Manti, Motta and Lewis Moore, but will return a lot next year (Shembo, Tuitt, Nix) along with the best LB class in the country (including the #1 overall LB) and they have one of the youngest secondaries in the country with some really good young talent a long with some guys who have gotten hurt but will be back next year.

 

ND wasn't supposed to be here yet...But they are. They will only get better, and maybe they aren't better than 8 other teams in the country right now... But give this offense a year or 2 and look out. Speed that will be comparable with Oregon and a defense that is looking more and more like a SEC defense each year.... Enjoy it while you can anti-ND guys, and by that I mean keep telling us how overrated we are even though we are 9-0... Because this is only the beginning of what is going to be monster program in South Bend.

If you're absolutely certain they're heads and shoulders above the Cards, it's not like we don't have a common opponent between them to examine. Personally, I'm not much for comparing teams based on common opponents, but there's plenty of grist for the mill if you disagree.

Notre Dame's defense is their strength, while Louisville's is clearly their offense. I think it would be a great game. But, I do think that ND's run game would be a major concern for me.

While I would normally agree that LSU hasn't had QB play...but 298 against 'Bama changes that.

How do we know ND doesn't have two losses on Louisville's schedule? I've seen plenty of both and I can tell you that Cincy's a better team than Pitt by a mile.
