October 14, 20187 yr Evan Williams Single Barrel. Best everyday sipping bourbon for the money. Diabetes has cut down on consumption, but I still have a ready supply for guests. Picked up Evan Williams Bottle in Bond last weekend. It is really good for a $26 liter bottle of bourbon.
October 14, 20187 yr Anyone know what the story is behind Bower Hill? I gave a bottle a real close look but don't know much about the distillery. At $85 for a bottle, I wanted to make sure I did my research to make sure it was from Kentucky. Bottle says distilled and aged in Kentucky. Internet research mentions something about Silverton, Ohio and some other place in Connecticut. Makers and Beam are owned by a Japanese holding company. Bower Hill is owned by a company in Silverton, Ohio. I have a bottle of their Barrel Strength Very Small Batch bourbon. It is the most I've every paid for a bottle of bourbon and worth every penny. It is the smoothest 118 proof I've ever had and it is much better than Pappy 23.
October 14, 20187 yr Love when I find great deals....it’s not bourbon, but I snagged a bottle of Town Branch Rye for under $25. DEPs sells it for $50.

Yes, it is white label and yes, it is 1.75 liters. I've always called the big bottle a liter. Don't know why. I know it's not that. Old habits are hard to break.

November 16, 20187 yr I was at the Union Kroger liquor store and asked the cashier what a going price for Pappy would be off the shelf (since the secondary market is crazy). He said $92. ( I forgot to ask if it was the 10yr, or 12yr or other) He said they had 10 bottles in the back and would be selling at 4pm friday along with some other wellers. Probably some kind of a drawing but he said about a 25% chance you would get a bottle. So if anyone is interested, there you go.

November 18, 20187 yr I just bought a bottle, I'm eagerly anticipating my first swig. It’s a rock-solid cheap bourbon. Little splash of water does it just right. I’m big on bondeds lately. Old Grand-Dad orange label, Old Bardstown bonded, and that white label EW are faves. And if I have extra money I’ll do McKenna. The Barton 1792 bonded is amazing.
December 27, 20187 yr Just bought me a bottle of 1792 Full Proof. I've had this one before and I must say it was delicious.
December 27, 20187 yr My favorite right now is Weller. Got a bottle of the Special Reserve from my mother in law for Christmas. So smooth.
