I was an out of district attendee to BGHS. Had to pay to go there actually. I didn't play any sports there. I just wanted to go to the best school in Warren County. At one time I believe, though I am not certain of the sport,(DF can confirm) I think BG's best player(s) lived in Warren Central's district and Warren Central's best player(s) lived in BG district. :lol:

Just a few years ago one brother played for BG's basketball team and his brother and room mate played for Warren Central. Both were very good players and contributed to a large degree to each teams success. Thought how in the heck do two brothers sleep in the same room but play for a bitter rival! Don't know which brother was out of district. Lol!

None...They come from all over the country to play at HHS..Most of the kids fly in on Sunday night and fly out after the games on Friday..Most of the kids stay in dorms on campus. They get their choice of an Escalade or Corvette to drive around in while they are at school. Every kid has a private tutor to get their ACT scores up..:puke:

 

and all paid for by Cris Collinsworth. I don't think they stay on campus anymore, since all the trailers are gone out front.:lol:

Have you attended games involving Catholic Schools? Football is ALL about attracting new enrollments and donations.

 

If you want to make some money for your school do this - schedule St. X for a Freshman game at home and charge $5 a head. Guaranteed gate. 100 freshman - Most parents and a lot of grandparents coming to watch....300 people attend easily.

SK plays freshman ball with Cov Cath every year. That is not the point though. With privates and to a lesser extent independents, outside tuition and donation revenue improve with football success. In public programs, they do not. So if the head football coach needs access to the principal, the phone call from the private school gets returned a whole lot quicker than in a public program.

Good football program begins with 4 huge key influences. In order of importance I believe they are an excellant coaching staff , above average community support, good facilities and the size of enrollment. Enrollment size is a key like it or not. Some schools have the enrollment just not the other 3 key influences.

Nope. The implication is that it takes a whole lot more than just having 2000 boys to choose from to field a successful team/program. While I'll admit having that many does give an advantage it is not the deciding factor when it comes to how good a team and its program is.

It is one of the many deciding factors IMO. If there werent classifications, the disparity between large and small enrollments would show more. IMO

How about we just have 2 classes? One with open enrollments , and one with closed enrollments? IMO, that matters a lot more than, size, coaching or facilities.
