I think we can eliminate Brandon from this thread due to the title. Let's move along. If there's more discussion to be had about it, let's have yet another thread regarding holdbacks if we all haven't had enough of those over the years.

Is this the time of year when offers are pretty well wrapped up? Or do seniors continue to get looks and potential offers as their senior season plays out?

99% of NKY players are going to be NAIA/D3 players. Traditionally, those scholarships are decided upon late even after the season.

Many will come as the season progresses. I spoke to 3 coaches personally who all 3 said that they would like to get their incoming classes finished as early as possible. Lots of kids have offers and they can choose from those offers, but from the college perspective, you can't put all of your eggs in one basket. They may offer a couple of kids at the same position, take the one who says yes first. I suppose every situation is different, but to make a long story short (not) kids can verbal anytime an offer is made. The early signing date is Nov. 14th.

4 of our starters from last year are playing at the next level. All went with offers that were made after the season was over. Stenzel and Rogers to Georgetown, Howard to Asbury, and Fatkin to Rockhurst.

I'm sure you know this, but for those that don't, D3 does not have any athletic scholarships.

There will be a lot more guys to decide later on in the year. Some who already have offers like Darryl Hicks and some that are still waiting on more offers or the right offer.

Correct. I was using the term "scholarships" as in "we want you to come here."

 

Trickle down. Kids that are holding out for D1 that are borderline wait then end up D2 . Kids who were hoping D2 then get bumped. Etc.

The majority of NKY kids that are able to play at some level are D3. History supports that.That doesn't mean there aren't kids that will play higher. General statement.

This senior class in Kentucky isn't very deep.

 

The junior class has more Division I talent, led by Ballard's Quentin Snider. Already committed to U of L.

The senior class has a UK commit in Willis. Hicks still Arizona? Prewitt? I think this years class is deeper than last. And next year's could be deeper for sure with Hall and others. I'll be curious when it's all said and done how the #'s might compare to the class prior, and the class ahead.
