There pretty far from good Sweep. Just like the other county teams, great classes that graduate. Just not sustainable.

They're not even a shadow of the team that beat Highlands in 2010. We saw them play Campbell County, and it was just ugly. Ryle is S-L-O-W!!!! Campbell County isn't close to fast, but they made Ryle look like they were playing in a glue trap. A lot of NKY teams would pound Ryle this year.

As for why, I couldn't begin to say, unless they just failed to develop players for the post-Elliott era in an all-or-nothing push for immediate success. No way the cupboard should be this bare at a school the size of Ryle. Are all the athletes in school still backing the Warner philosophy, or have they stopped coming out for the team?

Ryle needs to spend extra time this week on the punt team and the kick return team.

 

Punt return team for Ryle won't see the field because Highlands will not need to punt, but the kick return team will see lots of action!!!!

Have you seen them play this year yet? unfortunately they are that bad.

I don't think I've ever seen a team fall so far this fast from what appears to be the aftershock of losing the best player in their school history. Bummer. I'll still go and watch because that's what I do.

I would too. They had some great players on their team in 2010 and 2011. They have some great players on this years team also. We will all watch Lex Sowards playing on Saturdays and maybe beyond when he graduates next year. A great O-Lineman. They still have some gifted athletes, they just need to find something to turn it around is all.

 

It's not like they are lacking the athletes, I think it is more of maybe needing a change of philosophy or something.

Maybe they need a Remember The Titans Retreat, or new dance. Maybe coach Yost could come and help coach Warner. I'm sure that could only help. He needs to re-energize the troops.

You are correct sir. At HHS, they continue to move and start underclassmen. Right now there are 2 sophs that start D at OLB and Safety along with a 3rd that rotates and has started. You have to have a good mix and continue to do it to be successful in the long run. There are other positions as well. The rotation of players is crazy. They have really mastered it. Helps having 90+ kids on roster. How many does Ryle have? That school should have at least 80!

Highlands will put a 50 spot up on the board. Ryle simply doesn't have the athletes to compete with and stop them on defense. HHS speed will really give the Raiders fits.

 

Offensively, I hate to say it but the philosophy simply doesn't suit this team. They don't have a power back and Coach Warner uses a run dominated offense. Very predictable and the HHS coaches will have a field day picking it apart. It also doesn't help that half the team is torn when it comes to the leadership of this team. There are a lot of issues at Ryle right now that are showing on the field.

I will wait to see the final score before I say anything real constructive.

If I remember correctly, there were some saying this day was coming but I certainly wouldnt think it would take just 2 short yrs.

Man it seemed just like yesterday when Coach W was about 2 secs from having his rights read to him by one of Ft Thomas finest. LOL
