I think NCC wins this one rather easily..Those boys on the Hill are not real happy about last year..

Of course the Breds aren't happy about last year, but that has little to nothing to do with the outcome of this game. My guess is these Breds are more fired up about the other team's QB than they are about last year. Plus, IMO emotion is over rated as far as how it impacts the outcome of a game. You can be as fired up as you want and if you aren't better than the other team you are going to lose. I am sure I am in the minority with that view but that is how I see it. It is all about who is on the field this year and their talent and execution. Emotion can only get you so far. I would say emotion helps much more at practice during the week than it does on game night because everyone focuses more and works even harder in practice.

 

If Holy Cross has not improved defensively in the past few weeks, it will be a long night for the Indians. Holy Cross needs to run the ball, play ball control and limit the possessions in the game to help their defense. Then hope the Breds stop themselves with a couple turnovers and maybe it is a ball game. On the Breds side, if they throw more than 5 passes in this game, they are helping Holy Cross. I don't think Holy Cross can stop the Breds running game, so why should they throw the ball? If they totally load the box, then take advantage and throw it. Otherwise, just run it over top of them. I guess if Beal and Pouncy can make some big plays, maybe a special teams TD or two, Holy Cross can hang tough but I don't see this being much of a game.

Holy Cross will take care of business again and have another great cheer to do at the basketball game this year.

60-0, lets not forget, the j.v. played the whole third and the freshman played the 4th for NCC. Coulda been 100-0. Coach Eviston is a first class act and doesnt run the score up. I'm sure the defending state champs played the 1st teamers the whole game.

Coach Koz I have never known him to not pull starters, etc and be classy. I could be wrong but my assumption is that he is a good guy.

I think all NKY91 is saying is that if someone thinks HC is going to take care of business they probably are misguided,don't know much about football, or is blinded by school pride. A running clock with 10 mins to go in the 3rd quarter against a team that beat HC is the basis of that point. Game is a couple of days away, should be fun......for me at least.

I agree with your point especially since you refer to the Lloyd game. That is a good opponent to compare games, not Brossart. HC committed 6 turnovers in the Lloyd, several deep in Juggs territory. I know Lloyd made several big plays, but HC should not have lost that game. The Indians can not do the same against the Breds and expect to win. I really liked VOR's last posting. He had some thoughtful points on the way to his conclusion (although, I hope for different outcome, of course). Beal and Pouncy are fun to watch in space and can make big plays at any time. I could see a high scoring AND close game. It is obvious to all that NCC is peaking well right now. The Breds beat up a Lloyd team that has played well all year and has had some nice wins. Hopefully, HC has not played their best games yet. I had some deep concerns early in the year about the Indians defense (allowed too much yardage and too many TDs). The defense is playing better - enough? - I don't know. But, in fairness, after reading posts from previous threads, fans of both teams have had concerns about their teams offensively and defensively this year.

I agree both players are exciting to watch but losing the offensive weapons from last year as well as the solid D isnt something I think HC can overcome this year. NCC also has much improving to be done and its been a gradual process this year. I think they have been beat up in a way thats going to prove be a huge positive. See you Thursday.

NCC takes this by several scores I think. Holy Cross looks like it struggles stopping the run.

I have seen both team's play and I would favor in NewCath to win, however, I also thought the same in the playoff between HC and NC last year. These two team's will be up for each other and provide a good first half. I just feel that NC will ware HC down and beat them in the 3rd and 4th quarters. As for Lloyd wow they have had a good year and at 6 - 2 Erlanger is proud. NewCath has made the turn and heading in the right direction. JD

I feel that our D has gotten better stopping the run in the past weeks although we were playing weaker teams. This week to me has to do with stopping the passing game as our senior safety has given up to many big plays and I know that our QB will have a big target on his back as well! For HC to win this game beal and pounce have got to be the go to guys and be the play makers for this to be a HC win and our linebackers to have a BIG game!! We are ready and I do feel this will be the true test to see how good HC is and how far we will go this year. GO INDIANS!!
