Who says something like that? She had bad taste in men so she shot one of them 7 times. He didn't need to say anything. Now he just sounds stupid.

No frigging kidding. I have an ex-girlfriend that I dated for three years. She was terrible. I don't see how that would have justified me shooting her, though...

Is Deters representing her?

I've heard a couple speculations about that...but I find it hard to believe that there would be a mention of a hearing involving him and even a quote from him in the online article without him making sure his name was attached to it.

No surprise here...she's claiming self defense. Not a chance that's true.

Ryan's visitation and funeral are this late this afternoon and this evening.

Should be pretty easy to prove one way or the other. Sad that this young man had to lose his life over this, sounds like he had a lot of things really going for him.

I know you said you knew him, but I don't see how you could know the bolded is true.

What makes you shoot someone 7 times? So 2 or 3 bullets didn't do the trick?

She must have been enraged to shoot him 7 times. Snapped.

I have not followed this story. Why do you say there's no chance?

I believe CWB knew the victim and for a long time. Probably knows the type of person he is but I will let him answer.

Either snapped or feared for her own life, either way it's sad when a romance ends in violence.

When I got my permit the trainer said if you are going to shoot someone, you should empty your gun. "A dead witness can not testify". I have seen a photo of her on a firing range, so she had knowledge of how to use a weapon.

Roommate's girlfriend lived with her a couple of years ago. Being fairly close to that group of people, she believes he was just trying to end things and the girl snapped and killed him. She doesn't believe it was self-defense at all. This is just the opinion of someone who knew the couple quite well.

I grew up with Ryan. He was a lot of things, but violent was not one of those. Not in the least. Ryan was the kind of guy who was constantly corrected in sports for not being "physical enough". He was the kind of guy who was called names as a kid because he wasn't as rough and tough as the other guys. Ryan was never a guy prone to getting into arguments, and definitely not fights. He wouldn't hurt a fly. I know a lot of people, and there are very few who I can say for sure that I know would never do something like that...but Ryan was one of them.
