UK spent more than LSU in 2011?

 

To me, these numbers reveal what is expected: that basketball trumps football at UK. I think this expenditure would be more accepted by complaining football fans if some of the facility needs were being met.

Well the only way we will get a competent coach (not necessarily top of the brass) is if the Athletic Department actually makes some sort of financial commitment to the football program. Obviously, from the numbers we have seen here, the commitment isn't there.

 

One would think that since the basketball program is self-sustaining, that more of the money brought in from the football program would be reinvested back into it. I know some is used to support the other athletic programs but it is obvious the Athletic Department isn't trying to improve the football program but rather milking it like a cash cow from the success it started to have under Rich Brooks.

I'll take your word for it. No disrespect to those programs, but nobody outside the program cares. The success of soccer or lack thereof will have no bearing on the AD's employment status. I'm not anti-UK soccer, I'm anti-Barnhart. I hope both soccer teams win every game they play.
