Cats Pause 10th Region Preview

Featured Replies

GRC 9th. Wow.

We were ranked 6th last year....:D. We like flying under the radar. We really are in a rebuilding year this year. In the last 2 years we have graduated 17 players. Not much experience returning this year. Well we had that last year too.... but I knew we had the talent in Bopper, Adam and Charlie, all of which will be playing college ball. Bopper was the only player ranked in the top 10 last year from GRC. I think most know we will finish better than 9th in the region.....:sssh:

Nicholas Co. in the top 10 but not Pendleton? HA. That's the only real issue I see. Teams 2-4 could be put in any order. I would have Bach in front of Jackson. Other than that looks fine, thats a rather big "other" though.

Not that I have anything against NC but yeah PC should be in the top 10 no doubt.

Jackson too high and Johnson too low in my estimation.

Just got some info I would like to share. The writer of the 10th region, Brad Laux. DID send out a poll for the coaches to have their input on writing of this preview, ranking of players and teams. Glad to hear this. I wish all regions would do this.

Nicholas County in the top 10, and Pendleton County not is genuinely funny. Pendleton County only lost two starter from last year.

How many coaches in the 10th responded? That can have an effect on the poll if the coaches did not respond.

That information I did not receive. I was told that the coaches were contacted again if they did not respond the first time. I would hope that all responded.

Polling the coaches, even if some don't respond, is still better than just one persons opinion.IMO.

Papa's first unscientific pass:

1. Montgomery County

2. Campbell County

3. Scott

4. Bishop Brossart

5. Harrison County

6. Mason County

7. Clark County

8. Pendleton County

9. Augusta

10. Bourbon County

As always, the 37th district will be interesting.

^This is a much better ranking that what Cat's Paws came out with.

Mason Monroe needs to be in the top 5. Probably a great arguement for top 3.

Top 5 ok, top 3 over who?

My top 3 would have been:

1. Omar Prewitt

2. Nate McGovney

3. Mason Monroe

Next 3 from Cats Paws could be interchangeable.

No way you leave Bach out of top 3. He is getting looks from D1 programs

Agreed.

My reservation with McGovney is the injury. If he's healthy, he's right there with Prewitt at the top. Bach at #3. But I would have Monroe at #4.

Without seeing any of the new faces in Mount Sterling, I agree 100%.

Good point.

I am sure he is getting lots of well-deserved looks. But for pre-season, I like Monroe at the #3 spot with Bach right behind him. But let's give it to the end of the year and let all the first games and tourneys shake and out and see what happens.

And IMO - While I really like McGovney, Prewitt is a clear #1 to me.
