Sounds like the good old days. I remember going to the Beechwood Homecoming Parade, but now it's very much a non-event a many schools.

Frankfort does the same! Floats and parade to the game field for a upper class men vs under class men flag football game

That's great. I've always been a fan of Ludlow.

Scott High School did it for years while I was there. I know they continued it a few years afterwards as I came back a few times and got to see it. I couldn't tell you now if they are still continuing to do it or not. I always enjoyed them!

The whole city seems to take part in Ludlows homecoming. Its nice to see a small community supporting their kids like that. Scott still does a parade but I hear it is in question this year due to the construction on 16.

Scott will have a parade this year. It was originally cancelled, but a few from the school plead the case for it. The parade will begin at Pride park this year.

 

Homecoming is still a pretty big deal where I'm from, and I still think most communities around here are really involved, with parades, floats, dances, spirit weeks, etc.

So it sounds like the rest of N. Ky. (outside of Ludlow and Scott) is the area that has left the parades and festivities in the past. I think it is great for school spirit and the community to have the full fledged celebration.

Campbell County still has a parade for homecoming.

I don't know if it's better or not, but Raceland has it's homecoming, the JFL also has a homecoming the same week. The JFL and high school have a homecoming parade together with floats. The varsity players ride on the floats with the JFL players. The JFL players love being there with the varsity players. The parade ends at the JFL field and there is a carnival type atmosphere.

 

Plus, our kicker wins Homecoming Queen. lol

I went to school at Ludlow. FOR is correct in that it may be the best around. The school splits fundraising money between classes and each team gets a couple weeks to build the float. The youth program is always in the parade and it gets the players jacked up. Always was a good time.

It seemed like the last four years I scouted I was at every Ludlow home coming game and it is nice and the whole community is involved. The stands are usually crowded and I get to see alot of ole friends I played and coached against. It is a great atmosphere and the people in Ludlow really enjoy themselves. JD

Ludlow has always done an outstanding job with their Homecoming festivities. The administration, faculty and students really work hard to make the entire week a very festive atmosphere. I'm always very proud to be from Ludlow whenever I am able to attend the Homecoming game. Good luck Panthers! Beat those Greendevils!
