Laid down my bike today...

In Walton. I NEVER ride in the rain and for some reason I got an inkling to ride today. As I'm turning and heading up hill my wheel lost traction and then gained it too quickly for me to recover and that was all she wrote. Scrapes on me and the bike even though the rain caused the wreck it also helped minimize the damage I think. Scary feeling, I felt completely out of control for a moment.

Glad you weren't seriously injured. Do you wear a helmet?

I wish you'd sell it and by a boat. I pray my boys don't ever get one. I've had 1 friend and 4 people I knew extremely well killed on them.

Unless your talking about your Huffy.

Glad you are OK, one of the reasons I got rid of my bike. The thought of wrecking on it scared the hell out of me (and my wife).

Didn't have the helmet, I know I should but I'm stubborn like that. I'm thinking after this event my next stop will be to buy a new helmet. It was a quick wreck which is almost more scary. Not like someone pulled out in front of me or anything it was just as though I had controll one moment and the next I didn't.

Has always been a lingering thought of mine as well. I seriously NEVER ride in the rain, I don't know what got in to me. It's mostly my pride that hurts right now because I know better, I know it's dangerous, I know it's especially dangerous when it's wet out but I still did it. Disappointed in my judgement.

Glad you are ok man but you are very, very, very lucky. My stepdad has his bike for sale right now which pleases me greatly.

The money my stepdad gets from the Harley is going towards a ski boat. My parents sold their bass boat and ski boat to get a better bass boat that winter and another ski boat in the summer -- that was two years ago.

I've never once worried that another boater was texting and gonna run me over in my boat.

I understand the scary part of losing control. I also understand the part about the damage to the bike. I was sick for 2 days after laying mine down, and I didn't get a scratch on me.

I saw 5 fatal motorcycle accidents the first 2 weeks I lived down here. Had my bike up in Kentucky at my folks place, at the time. Called Pop and told him to sell it. Never been back on one since.
