Who recently said: We’re very motivated by the fact that we’re stereotyped. We’re very motivated by the fact that no matter how well we do, our kids never seem to get any credit.

So after reading all 4 pages, I'm just wondering why he thinks his kids never get any credit. I'm pretty sure JJ Jude got all kinds of praise and accolades last year. What's he looking for by making this statement?

The "no respect" card is one of the major ways that Matney (and other eastern Kentucky coaches) motivates his players. Personally, I think the no respect stuff is a bunch of hooey, as I know a whole lot of folks from throughout Kentucky that respect eastern Kentucky football. But if the eastern Kentucky players and fans keep buying it, eastern Kentucky coaches are going to keep selling it.

As a Johnson Central fan I would love to be one of the best teams in 5A but Johnson Central is actually in 4A. Once again this info isnt hard to look up before you post. I'll ask you the same question why would Johnson Central schedule Highlands and Cov Cath in the regular season when they'll play them in the second or third round of the playoffs. Do you feel that playing Campbell County,Dixie,Boone,or Beechwood gets Cov Cath ready for the playoffs? Does playing Western or Mason County get Highlands ready for the playoffs? Comfort Zone you say, since 2007 Johnson Central has played teams like Central,Wheelersburg Oh,Cooper,Conner,Belfry,Breathitt County,Bryan Station,Boyle County,Bell County,Knox Central,Perry Central,Logan WV,and Ironton Ohio. Some we have played multiple times throughout the years and I know some of you will turn up your nose and frown upon these teams but we cant schedule Northern Ky teams every week. Did you ever stop and think that Johnson Central may be losing alot in the next couple of years? Here are the facts, Johnson Central graduates their entire defensive front this year and three offensive lineman. Next year they lose almost all of there offensive players and secondary players, and to top it off in this years freshman class there's a grand total of three skill players. This is the weakest freshman team at Johnson Central the past nine years.

They have been both 4A and 5A. The point is that they have not been able to get it done against the top in either division, and they won't playing teams like Heath. The fact is that their AD had a game scheduled with Ryle both last year, and through this year's session. When he took it to the coach he refused both times. That is really sad, since Ryle is at 3-3 this season. They certainly aren't world beaters. This decision per the AD had nothing to do with travel.

Johnson Central never received a game film from Scott either so what's your point? Scott could have had every Johnson Central game for the last ten years and it wouldn't have helped them.

You're right. Matney could have given a script of plays he was going run to Scott in the order they'd run them, and it still wouldn't have helped. And JC getting scott's film probably wouldn't have kept Zach Sowder from gaining over 300 yards and being the best player on the field that night. I was just stating that the time with CCH isn't the only time Matney has been less than forthright with game film. Scott was willing to drive and get the film, and still he wasn't willing to provide it. It's clearly a pattern.

I've got a ton of respect for the players at JC. And it's a great facility to play in. They've built a solid program, and they really don't need the tired no respect card. Plenty of people recognize their talent and recent track record. That's what they need to focus on.
