September 30, 201214 yr Their defense may suck, but they were solid today against a mediocre Jaguar offense. Shut down MJD, which is never easy. They don't need 120 rushing yards every game when Dalton and Green connect every week like they've been connecting. It's a lot of fun to watch them play.
September 30, 201214 yr Good win today. That is what good teams do they go out and beat the teams that they are suppose to beat. Defensively they were not playing a good offense, but did play well today except for two drives. What was nice was how they stopped the run! Crocker looked good today in his first game back and on short notice. The offense continues to look good though! It was a nice win. Who Dey!
September 30, 201214 yr Really impressed today. Look at the schedule and this team could be a playoff team if they take care of the teams they should.
September 30, 201214 yr What did everyone think of the fake punt? I know a lot of people on here ripped Marvin Lewis for doing the fake field goal last week when it didn't work. So was it also a bad idea to go for a fake punt? I would venture to say most people didn't have a problem with it. Which gets back to my point of last week, there is no real good time to run a fake that people will agree with unless it works. Today it worked so it was a great call! If it didn't work people would be tearing the Bengals up for being down 7 to 3 and giving the Jags great field position. Gutsy call but great call.

I knew as soon as they ran that play you would try to compare the two. Not even close to the same thing. Last week he had a gimme FG, so you're not taking 3 big points away from your team. I'm sure this play was called at the line of scrimmage when it was obvious the play would work with the alignment the Jaguars had on their punt return team. I could have run for 25 yards on that play. The Jaguars offense is terrible.

I didn't see the discussion last week but I think it was a bad call. If I remember correctly, the FG would have put the Bengals up by 10. I think going up 2 scores, even though it was early in the game, would have been beneficial. With that being said, I think the play design was an even bigger problem. The play had almost zero chance of succeeding.
October 1, 201214 yr And my Jags take another step closer to Matt Barkley. And to becoming the LA franchise.
October 1, 201214 yr And to becoming the LA franchise. According to Bengals radio...The Jags are staying put b/c the new owner is filthy rich, love J'ville & just spent 770 million for the team & 5.2 million on locker room improvements alone.
October 1, 201214 yr According to Bengals radio...The Jags are staying put b/c the new owner is filthy rich, love J'ville & just spent 770 million for the team & 5.2 million on locker room improvements alone. Correct. I dont see the franchise moving.

I'm sure this play was called at the line of scrimmage when it was obvious the play would work with the alignment the Jaguars had on their punt return team. I could have run for 25 yards on that play. The Jaguars offense is terrible. Just like I thought when it works no one would say anything. Yet I guarntee people would be saying another stupid move by Marvin if it didn't work today. Remember I agreed last week that it was a bad idea to go for the fake. Just like it would have been a bad idea today too if it didn't work. The Bengals were playing on the road against a team they should beat and were down 7 to 3. If the get stopped the Jags get great field position, and possibly score which could have put the Bengals down more. The Bengals had more to lose this week by going for the fake than they did last week on this call. Also as far as we know they might have made the call on the line last week for the fake too. Or maybe the Bengals scouted and knew the Jags line up like that and had the fake prepared for it. Just typical responses by other people on here. If it didn't work they would have got torn up again for doing it. I just like that the Bengals are doing what winning teams do and that is being aggressive. Which gets back to what I said, a fake is only a good call to people if it works. If it doesn't work then the majority of the time people will say it was a bad call and bad timing for it.
