September 28, 201214 yr It depends ENTIRELY on what band (if any) is playing when you go. There's a band? Hell, it was extremely loud with no band.
September 28, 201214 yr Cool. My wife and I dig Northside. We often head to Take the Cake and then head to the record store. Keeping it old school. The Al Pastor with pineapples marinated in tequila and mint is off the charts. One of the best flavors I've ever had in a gourmet taco. Beer selection is also more than solid...
September 28, 201214 yr I also always enjoyed Allyn's Cafe in the Columbia-Tusculum area. Great food and a cool atmosphere. Definitely a good spot; I haven't been there in a long time.
September 28, 201214 yr I thought I had heard that Allyns changed their menu. I know when I went they had everything under the sun on the menu.

September 29, 201214 yr Not sure if Arnolds falls into the "not too loud" category. When I was there with my daughter it was really, really loud. Get an upstairs table if it's a loud night. We usually go on slower nights.
September 29, 201214 yr Author Lots of great stuff folks. Really like finding hidden gems around the city and independently owned places. You've certainly added to my "go to" list.:thumb: Hit up Mt. Adams and the Blind Lemon last night. Great after dinner spot, highly recommend it if you haven't been.
