Football, which is why this former St. Thomas student that attended Highlands with a whole lot of other former St.Thomas students yet was still able to get a Catholic education, isn't directly responding to some rather "interesting" posts.

 

What is real interesting is to wonder if those Catholics so devout that they consider public schools anathema will vote for a Presidential candidate that supports abortion.

No, I'm just not shy about posting the GOOD, the BAD, or the UGLY! And I don't want to hear, "they are minors", that will never fly with me. Nobody has a problem when it comes to praising athletes on this site, however the moment they do something bad the majority don't say a "peep". Just like KentuckyJoe said, " if we praise these kids like gods for play on the field why not call them out for making "major mistakes" the point of adults is to help young kids become great adults not kiss their butts when it comes to sports then if they do something wrong just sweep it under the rug". I understand high school kids do stupid stuff and sometimes don't think, and they go against everything they are taught by their parents and teachers. For that matter, I did alot of dumb things back in my high school days I was lucky I just didn't get caught.

 

If it were my kid in this situation I'd have no problem with ANYONE posting about, hell I'd do it myself. And by the way, the PM's I got, they already knew about it and were only confirming things.

As far as calling them out, where the hell do YOU get the right to do it. If it's your kid, fine. I'm sure he has "Been called out" by the proper people. Based on your posts I sure don't think you are doing this "to make him a better person". Maybe we could just stone him in the city square. I'm sure you would think that would be fine. Saying something private to a kid is a hell of a lot different than posting it on a public site. As I said before I don't even know the kid, but you make me sick with your attitude, and I am sure I am not alone.

I just think a handful of football people pitched what sounded like a great idea for starting football to the BBHS masses and didn't have a detailed plan of attack or funds or facilities in mind. Football will last but who knows how long? Maybe them and Pendleton and a few others can begin their own independent league of their own...

Who says I DON'T have the right???? Plus I never posted anything about what this kid did. It's not my job to make him a better person, that's up to his parents and teachers, and I'm sure they are doing the best job possible to instill the right values. But as teenagers they sometimes stray from the path and this doesn't make them bad kids, and the same goes for this young man. I'm sure we are all guilty of doing "stupid" to some degree in our teenage days.

 

It's my opinion that more young adults NEED to be "called out" instead of being shielded behind the "minor" tag, then maybe we wouldn't have the pampered athlete syndrome that many have. Being "called out" will certainly make someone think before they act the next time.

I understand what you are saying but coaching isn't the issue at this point. In order to create a buzz with a new coach you would need to bring someone in with a history of winning. That's going to be difficult to find, maybe impossible. As far as being put in 2A b/c of old numbers, that's how the state determines the class, off of previous years enrollment. I've been hearing that complaint since that classification came out. They shouldn't have been playing varsity football at that point anyway. The school is to blame for that whole issue, they didn't try to build from the bottom up.

When is re-classification? I had heard that there would be no changes in NKY when the new classes were announced.

Maybe Beachwood to 2A and NCC and Brossart to 1 A.
