September 16, 201214 yr ^ 2002. The year Ty Willingham led them to an 8-0 start and then Boston College stuck the knife in them.... and then USC finished them with a shotgun blast. And that year was the only time it had happened since Lou Holtz's last year at Notre Dame. Let that sink in.

It will be tough to make it with their remaining schedule. I have thought all season ND could win 8 games yet be much improved from last season. Still have Michgan, Oklahoma, USC, BYU, Miami, and Stanford remaining. Impressive schedule.

If ND continues to get strong play from D they "can" win against all of them. They can also go in the proverbial tank but that's more on them and not the opponent.
