Agree with RU on Cooper's field. Terrible. Game last year with Conner should of been cancelled. The field was deplorable. Thought this game tonight would be a grinder. Boone is not a bad team and I am still picking them to win the NKY 6A. They have played 3 really good teams to begin their season. Boone is last year's Campbell Co. Did Moss play in this game? If so, was he a factor?

 

Yes, Moss played. He was not a factor catching the ball until late in the 4th quarter. I believe he made 2 catches, both for first downs. One was a real nice hands catch in traffic, may have been on 4th down, to pick-up a first.

Agree, Moss has great hands and a big body. I look for the Rebels to use him more this season. I would also like to see Boone give Moss a shot on the DL. At times last year he was almost unstoppable as a DL. Special athlete for sure!

 

It doesn't seem Boone gets shut out very often, so great job by the Cooper defense. Offensively, when Boone is "bringing the house" on every play after the first drive then I would change up the offense and throw some short quick throws. The WR's were out wide with the the DB's playing seven yards off and could easily do a slant and be on their way. Oh well, they won the game and I would not be a very good coach anyway.

 

Thought Boone threw the ball a lot last night, mostly unsuccessfully. Seemed like they were trying a ton of short sideline passes. The interception before half was on a slant about 10 yards from the line of scrimmage, the DB jumped the route. Boone did have a receiver break open on an out and up in the 4th, but the QB over threw the ball instead of getting some air under it and letting his wideout run under it. Too bad because it would have been a long TD as he was probably 5 yards clear of the DB. Cooper's d-line did a good job against both run and pass, Boone's QB did not have much time in the pocket and they rolled him out on at least half of his attempts.

Cooper only scoring 10 is a bit surprising.

I expect he will see some time next game at DE. Not in top shape due to missed practice while getting paperwork cleared. Also will see more plays at TE. Initially was in on just certain plays but showed he could block and that earned him more time.

I do not know what type of offense Cooper runs so I can't answer that. Obviously, every game helps your team get better so it could be that Boone just made some nice adjustments. Conner hurt Boone with the deep ball. Maybe that's not Cooper's game.

It doesn't help that Cooper's field sits down at the bottom of that hill, not very conducive for drainage. I can't believe that when building that school brand new, the county wouldn't have invested in turf, and a better parking system.

Longbranch Elementary will begin construction on 8 classrooms in the back toward Cooper's field. It will be interesting to see how that impacts parking in that complex.

The parking out there is already awful, cant imaging how bad it will be whith a construction crew added to the mix.. I'm glad I don't have to go out there this year

I thought that is where he would play. He was a man amongst boys the 2 times I saw him play DL last year..
