Ashland Basketball

I know these guys that have quit and they are not quitters. Joe Smith has played football for 2 seasons with an injured shoulder. He worked hard both seasons so he could get back on the field and made a big impact for the Cats. The only thing these guys have ever quit is basketball. You can only take so much frustration and discouragement and then it gets to be where it's not worth it any more.

Good point on Joe Smith.

One of the fathers of the group of boys that graduated last year made the statement the reason none of those boys played was because flynn told them in the 8th grade they weren't good enough to play so don't bother to try out. So none of them did.

So i looked in the yearbook at the Freshman team for that year. It had 7 or 8 players from verity middle school on the freshman team. None of the stars that had played on the 8th grade team the year before, the ones that would actually be Freshman.

I believe that group was referred to as "the weakest incoming freshman class we have had in a long time".

I heard he did tell that to the freshmen. Also Joe Smith is not a quitter except when it comes to this years basketball season.

Love the avatar Rickyp

Glad you approve. :thumb:

With all the departures and their record this year, I wonder what the A.D. there is thinking and more importantly how long will the 'powers to be" accept this from such a proud tradition. Especially when you look at the middle school and J.V. -not much help is on the way.

I am going to leave this one alone.... :D

But on another note, every school goes thru high times and low times....Be Patient, it will come back to the heritage it once was. :thumb:

Maybe they're thinking about the A.D.

Who did you have in mind as a replacement?

I used to know a guy who always wore shorts, even in the coldest parts of winter. I would vote for him. After reading this thread someone like that is the only person I know who would be crazy enough to take the job.

I think I know who you're talking about - and I don't believe he'd take the job (not that it's open), unless he is still bipolar. :D

That guy was a football genius, but he couldn't beat a Todd Garvin coached team in basketball.

Don't need anymore football geniuses. One basketball genius will suffice!

OUCH!!! I sure hope he doesn't read this - he'll be suicidal!!

Flynn was a genius until this year and now he has no idea what he is doing. At least thats how I understand it.

Come on guys, this isn't a great team that is playing a muderous schedule.
