All Tell
4 years ago (when prices were at about the level they are now) there was huge outrage at the sitting President over it. Where is the outrage now? I realize I'm old and my memory isn't what it used to be but I know the media was all over gas prices 4 years ago but not so much now. I wonder why? spindoc
I'm outraged. So, I'll say right here.
jericho
The media wont report about it because they are majority liberal and in an election year wont report on anything to hurt the Donkey president

True blue (and gold)
First, there has been a bit of outrage at different points when gas prices were up during Obama's presidency. Secondly, there is that little thing known as complacency, too.
Clyde
Gas was $1.89 when Obama took office. Are you saying we should pick a small slice of the history and use it ? It was about $3.75 in 2006. It was $4.29 in July 2008.
Michael Corleone
There is enough oil in North Dakota an Montana to make the US energy independent within 5 years. But for some reason we are not tapping it to the extent we could. To me that's criminal.
Clyde
There is enough oil in North Dakota an Montana to make the US energy independent within 5 years. . While this story has been out there for a few years I don't believe it's anywhere close to being true.

Clyde
Curious why you don't believe it. I've never read anything that has validity to support it. I'm open to any links that do.

I am gonna look for some. It's an issue I know little about, that's why I asked.

I should have added that much of the initial report stating something like 500B gallons has been discredited. I have seen the reports and actually heard a presentation given by a guy who spent a week there.
Clyde
As to the original question all I would say is that any person who credits/blames the POTUS for gas prices today, tomorrow, or in 2004 or in 2008 do not have a grasp of how the process works.
