nd unlike the President, I have a plan to create 12 million new jobs. It has 5 steps.

 

First, by 2020, North America will be energy independent by taking full advantage of our oil and coal and gas and nuclear and renewables.

 

Second, we will give our fellow citizens the skills they need for the jobs of today and the careers of tomorrow. When it comes to the school your child will attend, every parent should have a choice, and every child should have a chance.

 

Third, we will make trade work for America by forging new trade agreements. And when nations cheat in trade, there will be unmistakable consequences.

 

Fourth, to assure every entrepreneur and every job creator that their investments in America will not vanish as have those in Greece, we will cut the deficit and put America on track to a balanced budget.

 

And fifth, we will champion SMALL businesses, America’s engine of job growth. That means reducing taxes on business, not raising them. It means simplifying and modernizing the regulations that hurt small business the most. And it means that we must rein in the skyrocketing cost of healthcare by repealing and replacing Obamacare.

I knew after I asked the question that it was highly unlikely details would be mentioned during convention speech. However, I'm guessing he has mentioned how somewhere in the last months, right?

If he has he'll be the first politician I can ever remember doing so.

First impression from Rubio is he's got the "Presidential" feel and appearance to him.

 

Said that to my roommate last night. Might be the first Hispanic President. I sure liked him based off of what I saw last night.

I didn't get to see him last night but I've heard a lot of people say he was great last night. What was it about him that gave you the "presidential" feel?

 

It wasn't so much what he said (although I thought that was great as well), but moreso his demeanor, the way he spoke, the "air" about him. He appears to be the kind of politician that commands respect when he's in the room.

I've heard/read others say something similar. It sounds like what people said about Sen. Obama in 2004.

Has foreign policy experience now taken a back seat? Was it overblown in 2008?

If you thought Clint Eastwood was good then I do not know what to tell you. SNL now has room for an opening monologue for the next 8 weeks because of it. He came across as old, uninformed, and creepy. I guarantee you Obama and company were smiling all of last night because he pretty much trumped what Romney did (which I thought Romney did pretty well, nothing special but good).

 

With that said, it made for the best half hour of twitter ever following his speech.

On the bolded, many economists are forecasting 12 million new jobs over the next 4 years REGARDLESS of who is President; so that's not exactly a stretch.
