The CNN article BGC linked shows that Mr Ryan struggles with the truth which is disappointing. He was acclaimed as an expert and a straight shooter. He hasn't shown that yet.

 

I am not sure what 'untruth' he told. Obama was at the plant, campaigned there and even implied he knew what was coming to that specific plant. At least in the speech Ryan did not blame Obama for the specific cirmcumstance. It was personalizing the massive loss of jobs the country has had.

She had an interview with Greta shortly after all the speeches were finished & I was even more impressed with that.

 

That was the best part of the night. Greta had zero answer to Rice. It was awesome. She was hoping to give her a double talking, trip you up question, and she just couldn't come up with one. Again, if we have to nitpick and parse words it's clear that he was being disingenuous.

 

Also, he is saying that Medicare recipients are going to lose benefits. People who look at say that the ones who will have cuts are the hospitals that provide coverage. In addition, his OWN plan assumes the same cuts. Again, intentionally (I say that because I think he's very smart) misleading.

 

Simpson Bowles: Mr Ryan said the committee returned an urgent report (implying it was good and should be acted upon) but the POTUS ignored. it. He DIDN'T say that he voted against the report. Sure, he can wiggle out of that with an explanation but if you have to wiggle out you're not being upfront and not being a straight shooter.

 

We can't hold the guy up as a future leader when he is no better than the others we complain about for being loose with the facts.

I didn't get to see him last night but I've heard a lot of people say he was great last night. What was it about him that gave you the "presidential" feel?
