August 29, 201214 yr Author Enlighten me. Probably too long of a subject to hijack this thread. Long story short is Boeing violated their union contract in Washington state and filed suit with NLRB forcing Boeing to live up to the contract. NLRB agreed. Boeing finally worked out a new contract with the union and then asked for the suit to be dropped. SC and their protest had nothing to do with it.

Plus I'm not completely sure what his positions are. I'm not even sure whose Medicare plan he wants to use. I was a big McCain guy on here years ago as well (and took shots for hit) but he then got away from who he really is and tried to appease the far right wing of the party.

If he had won the White House, I think McCain would have governed as the 2000 version of himself. I don't have any basis for that, but that's how I feel.

August 29, 201214 yr Author Always look for the parts that a political candidate leaves out of a heart-warming American story. Mrs Romney (who we should all look like at 63 years old) talked about being worried about the risk of Mr Romney starting up Bain Capital. The problem is that there was no risk. Bill Bain tells the story that in order to get Mr Romney to take the position he had to guarantee him he would take him back if the opportunity didn't work out. He'd get not only his old salary but all of the raises he would have received had he stayed. Who wouldn't take that deal? Again, no matter what side you like, check out the back stories.
August 29, 201214 yr Author One more thing that caught my attention was the battle of messaging. Mr Romney is obviously hanging his hat on how bad the economy is . However, two governors last night go up and said how great their states , Ohio and South Carolina, are doing with jobs. That's a fine line to have to walk. Govs want to blow their own horn but it doesn't help with the candidate's message.
August 29, 201214 yr He was heading that way and I thought he was building up to "and here's how Gov Romney is going to do it and here's how he did it in MA." Missed opportunity. And therein lies the problem. I'm guessing we're not going to hear a lot about that.
