I think Boone runs away this one. I am not impressed with Conner. Their defense will give up a bunch of points.

It is obvious that you have not seen them play, great QB, very good RB and much above average O line. Defensively the DB's fly to the ball and the boys in the trench are formidable. I look for Conner to win by 14.

I am really interested in seeing how this game goes. I also am looking forward to seeing these other players everyone is talking about for Conner. Barker and Fogle are dynamite. The only other player that I saw in the Beechwood/Conner scrimmage that I would think about if game planning against Conner is the WR Padgett - not sure about the speed but he has good hands and will make tough catches. It was a scrimmage and I don't know the names and numbers for these other guys people are listing but Fogle and Padgett were the only two players that really impressed me.

 

These early games are always interesting because you find out who has what pretty quickly. The three games in N. Ky. I am most interested in tonight are this one, BW/SK and Cooper/Holy Cross.

How can you forget about players you never heard of.Did they play varsity last year and did they do anything to remember them for this year.Only two players on Conners O is of course Barker and Fogle to very talented players but contain them Conner is done.Their D is not strong even if Roman says they r better than last year that still means other teams will score at will.Boone will run over Conner's D, and keep Barker and Fogle of the field.Boone wins by 2 Td's.

Jessie McKeehan is a name Conner fans will hear alot this season. He had his breakout game last year against Franklin County when he rushed for over 250 yards when Fogle went down. His is tough, fast and only a junior this season. Other names that will be called often are Chris Creech (2 TD's against Holmes and DNP against BW) and Andrew Way (missed all of preseason with an injury but should be in action tonight). Brian Loney and Nathan Ball along with Brady Padgett round out a very good corp of receivers. If teams think they can shut down one or two guys and beat Conner, they are sadly mistaken. This team has multiple weapons, so pick your poison. Is it 7 o'clock yet?

Conner has a few other skill position players that have the ability to make plays when their number is called. They may not all have the speed or capability to take the ball to the house at any time like Fogle does but McKean, Way, Loney and Creech are all solid ball players. Way missed both scrimmages with an ankle injury but will suit up tonight from what I have heard and Creech missed the Beechwood scrimmage. I think you will be impressed with their level of play tonight.

Barker has about six "weapons" that he can get the ball to, and don't forget about him running as well, he rushed for over 1000 last year. Conner has a potent offense capable of scoring A LOT of points. If defense is the question mark, the fact that they can score so many points makes that question a little less of a worry. Conner has a fast defense, and their line is strong. They will not give up nearly as much as some have predicted in this thread. Their defensive unit has improved greatly over the summer and is eager to announce their arrival, I think tonight is the night.

To quote Urban Meyer Conner will "Bring the Juice" to Florence on Friday night, and take this one running away. The Cougars are full strength and ready to get this season underway. They simply have too many athletes on both sides of the ball, and special teams to contain. If Boone focuses on one player, the others will shred them u. My prediction: Conner wins by three scores.

 

Rhino, if the Cougars win by three touchdowns anything less than a state final appearance will be a disappointment.

Guru, not necessarily three touchdowns, but three scores.. Honestly it doesn't matter if you win by 1 or 100, a win is a win.. take them one week at a time, and 15 of them gets you a ring. Conner is focused on tonight and tonight only. Looking forward to a good game tonight, and a big win to start the season

Take tonight out of it. A State Championship is the goal regardless of tonight's outcome. Any quality team should have the same goal, if not why play?

So you are correct, if this group does not make a state final appearance they will also see this as a disappointed season.
