Wow, I never thought I'd see a solid Beechwood basketball team. I guess they're for real

Beechwood is in the 9th and in the same district as Holy Cross, CovCath, and Holmes. I did not expect this game to be within 30 points as i said on a previous post. WOW was I dead wrong. This Beechwood team is a solid program, and I have no problem eating my words.

WOW.... Walt Allen comes alive after a couple quiet games. This kid is absolutely amazing. Starts at center but drains 4 3 pointers.

When Beechwood won the Campbell Co. tourney....they got my attention.

Margin was 11. Did it get any closer than that in the 4th?

How did Michael Romes look? What type of D did SL play on him?

It was 9 points with 12 seconds and Beechwood fouled them and let them hit a couple free throws to make it 11.

South was on cruise control.

Romes had 25pts? How does this happen. All South Laurel had to do was watch how CovCath played Romes. It seems Beechwood cut in to 11 late in th fourth quarter. Was the game already over after the 3rd? I'm surprised by the score, but even more surprised that SL didn't know that you have to take one player out of the game to beat Beechwood.

South pretty much let him get his points because they knew the Tigers didn't have enough firepower to keep up. A 27-7 run by SL in the 1st and 2nd quarter put the Cardinals up 20, and it stayed in that neighborhood until Beechwood started catching up.

How does the best team in the state LET a player get 25. Don't you put your #1 defender on him and always help out on D. I could understand giving him 15. But 25 and then 17 from Moore is pretty impressive by the Tigers on a supposably good defensive unit.

Beechwood's season will be over at district time as they have no chance of getting out of their district.
