I found an interesting article once that talked about how conservative many blacks are and that when presented with different policies often agreed with the Republican policy. Yet when presented with that same policy and it was identified with the Republicans they stated that they disagreed with it. Simple. Blacks could very well be the most homophobic people on this planet. Appeal to that. Blacks despise welfare more than this country will ever know. Appeal to that. Blacks are against gun control. Appeal to that. Your post is very true. Blacks do tend to mean conservative for the most part but when Romney, Palin, Ryan, Hannity, Limbaugh, Newt, George Jr and George Sr and the worship of Ronald Reagan are the lynchpins of the republican party it becomes really tough to jump on. Add in George Steele, Herman Cain and Jessie Watts as notable black republicans and the do nothing approach republicans take towards the black vote and you end up with a bunch of black democrats. Blacks will overlook homosexuality, welfare reform and gun control of the rallying cry is they don't care about us anyways. I also think Ronald Reagan and his perception severed a lot of trust and ties amongst blacks and republicans.

But what acknowledged black leader touts this or makes a case for the Republican or conservative oriented policies that may be beneficial? Mostly none. There are no acknowledged black conservative leaders whose primary focus in on the black segment as an entity. True? And this is a 'national level' statement. Conservative blacks are targeted worse it seems than non-blacks - by the black leader themselves. Former Obama Campaign co-leader Artur Lewis is now a throwing his support to Romney. Other than indicating he will campaign for Romney no other specific role has yet to be defined officially or otherwise for him as of now. Could he be a legitimate voice to the black community from the Romney camp? Never heard of him. Colin Powell has been the best bridge amongst blacks and republicans. When he abruptly left the Bush administration after Bush's first term and became an independent blacks all over America muttered these 8 words.....'see, I told you we couldn't trust them.'

Can we name some policies within the past two, maybe three decades? I don't want stuff from 70 years ago. I want to see how the policies in the last 20 years have helped minorities and poor people as promised. It seems to me that the vast majority of minority voters vote democrat but their predicament hasn't changed. Questions need to be asked. We still have a disproportional ratio when it comes to blacks in prison. A huge number is still in poverty. Minorities get the shaft in the economy right now with the highest unemployment rate. Black babies take up roughly a third of the ones aborted (minority women only account for 13-15% of the population). They tend to get the lowest quality of education. Lowest percentage rate going to college. These are scary numbers and not the ones that should accurately reflect a free society. Minorities have been voting for democrats for the last 70 years. What's going on?

I think it's more of a "white male ultra-rich disconnected with the general public Medicare vouchering Social Security privatizing fertilized egg humanizing offshore blind trust account having voter ID restricting middle-class marginalizing problem". At least, with this particular ticket. But that's just me. I don't speak for everyone else, and I certainly can't even pretend to speak for blacks. I will hazard a guess, though. Maybe a majority of blacks are fearful that things would be significantly worse under Republican-controlled executive and legislative branches.

If your Dad was born in Mexico and they(Hispanics) think you are against them, then at some point what do you do?
