July 30, 201214 yr Yes, Pierre has played a lot of games in center field, but he's been used there sparingly or not at all since 2007. That is what happens when guys get older. The White Sox played him in left with Alex Rios in center, so I suppose they didn't think he was up to it. And for a guy that some view as such a good leadoff option, note that the Phillies have only used him in the #1 or #2 spots once since the all-star break. .364 OBP since the All- Start break.

I'm not saying I want to get rid of Stubbs and put Pierre there full time. He's a nice guy to mix in and have on the bench during the playoffs vs an unproven rookie and he is going to be cheap.
