July 30, 201214 yr Author With the recent trade by the Marlins there is now only one team to have only 5 starters go the entire season: Red Legs. That will change August 18th.
July 30, 201214 yr That will change August 18th. Double header that day right? Think they will go with Sam, Simon, or call someone up?

July 30, 201214 yr Rob Biertempfel One #Pirates source just laughed when I asked how high is #Phillies asking price for Victorino. "I'll tell you later," he said, an indication team had cooled on acquiring the soon-to-be-FA. Shin-Soo Choo remains possibility, but Pirates understandably are very reluctant to include Starling Marte in deal. Same goes for Pence. I wouldn't be surprised to see Pirates pick up bench guy and reliever -- magic dust is wearing off for Cruz and another lefy in pen would be nice.
July 30, 201214 yr Author Double header that day right? Think they will go with Sam, Simon, or call someone up? I'm not sure of the rule, but I thought I read recently that they had changed a rule that in situations such as this you can have a 26 man roster for that day. If that is true, I think they will go with Todd Redmond.

July 30, 201214 yr Author Teams are going to be allowed to expand to a 26-man roster for day-night doubleheaders -- assuming those doubleheaders are scheduled with at least 48 hours' notice. That's a recommendation of Bud Selig's special committee for on-field matters. Baseball's new labor deal truly a historic one - ESPN
July 30, 201214 yr It wouldn't bother me at all if the Reds didn't make a move. I'm not buying this hot streak from Stubbs. History shows us he will go back to what he was. They still need a lead off hitter or a middle of the lineup guy to take BP's spot so he can lead off.

I think Ludwick has shown he can be the middle of the lineup guy that the Reds can move Phillips to lead off when Votto returns, and Stubbs down to 7th .
