Popeye's in Florence?

Featured Replies

Lee's is pretty good. Had a roommate in college that would probably eat there every meal if possible.

Haven't eaten at Popeyes since the mid 90's when the chicken I ordered was served undercooked. This happened when I lived in Philly, and haven't been able to get over it, and will probably never eat at a Popeyes again. I know it's completely irrational, but my stomach still turns when I think about it.

I really dislike KFC as well (way too greasy). I do really like Lee's. However, most of the time if I need a fried chicken fix, I usually get Remke's with Kroger's being a close second.

Does Dave Parker still own the Cincy-area Popeyes?

I was just wondering that myself!!

No he sold it about three or four months ago. The new owners are the ones that now charge for water and dipping sauce up by the old Forest Fair Mall.

I definitely think KFC is better, but I think Lee's tops KFC.

Absolutely, haven't had it in a while but I like Lee's as well.

I have eaten at the Florence store and it was okay at best. Had some chicken at a graduation party last month and was purchased from the deli on houston road from Walmart and it was very good and when they told me it was from Walmart I could not beleive it. Was very impressed. JD

Lees is delicious.

There used to be a Popeye's off of Smith-Edwards Exit on 75N. Used to be frequent that area...thought about going but never made it in. Haven't even considered eating at the Florence location...

I saw an tv ad for Popeye's and Zatarain spicy shrimp so went to the Florence location and they said they didn't carry the stuff the tv advertises. very disappointed!

Love Remke's chicken..whenever we have a big pool party we get 50-100 pieces from Remke's in Hebron. Nothing better than eating it 10 minutes after they pull it out of their fryer. Lee's quality has gone down IMO. I used to eat at the Covington and Latonia locations 3-4 times a week as a young man

Popeye's is the greatest fried chicken(non sandwich style chicken) restaurant. KFC>Popeyes? That's chicken blasphemy.

Lee's is good but nothing beats a three piece meal(white meat) with fries, red beans and rice and 2 biscuits. You guys don't know chicken. I know chicken. Trust me.

It breaks my heart to see and hear of Popeyes restaurants not representing the franchise properly. Granted, I was baptized in Popeyes in New Orleans and throughout Louisiana so that may be why I love it so much. The one in Danville was good. Wish it was still open. Folks around here don't know nothing about good Cajun food. Word.

According to his Wikipedia yes he does

I know the one near my work in Norwood always had his memorabilia up

Don't know about the one in Norwood, but he definitely sold the one in Forest Park.
