Popeye's in Florence?

Featured Replies

Has anyone ate at this one? Heard it was in a gas station and have had reservations about eating there. Is it strictly carry out or can you dine in? Thanks.

It's inside the TA Truck stop and I have taken food out but have never eaten inside the place but quite frankly (and I like Popeye's) it isn't that good their IMO and I wouldn't eat in, at the place!

I've ate there once. It was pretty dirty inside, the food was expensive and it wasnt all that good. I wouldn't eat there.

Not good at Florence. Went to the drive thru and got extremely bad and slow service, decided to try my food before I left the lot, was pretty lousy and not even hot. Went in to get my money back. It was pretty nasty.

Are Popeye's like that in general or are there some good ones out there?

The stand alone franchises tend to be much better.

Ate at one on the Keesler AFB, in Mississippi. The food was tasty, the place was clean and the staff was friendly and efficent. Have also eaten at one near the Cincinnati Zoo which I believe is now closed but it too was tasty and clean!

The terms "gas station" and "dine in" should always give one pause.

Popeyes on Glenway is pretty good.

We used to eat at the one on Linn st in downtown Cincy...believe it is closed now...very rough part of town but the lunch was always great. That has been years ago. I've since gotten Popeye's from other locations locally and it never measures up to the Linn St. location.

Have not eaten at the Popeye's in Florence. However have eaten at a couple in Florida and both were good. Have also eaten at one in Ohio by the Cincinnati Mills/Forest Fair Mall. Was very good and very clean, however I will not go back there because they charged additonal for a cup of water and for sauces. The price is already a little high and to charge extra for water and sauces I thought was rediculous. Especially when you buy chicken strips sauces should come with the meal.

I've never been a fan of Popeye's. I've eaten there three times at three different locations...the first time I was totally let down, then the subsequent visits I was cajoled into going by folks I was getting lunch with. I thought the chicken was overpriced and overdone. It'd take an awful lot to get me to try it again...

I like Popeyes but KFC is definitely better IMO.

I definitely think KFC is better, but I think Lee's tops KFC.
