June 25, 201313 yr ...and on top of that, I was playing my new titleist irons for the first time. So far, I really liked them. The 6 iron was very good to me yesterday the times I hit it.

June 25, 201313 yr I had a really nice round going yesterday but had a life lesson get in the way of what could have been my best round to date at the CC. Played 8 holes at 3 over with my youngest and he was awful. He stayed out the night before fishing a pay lake with our youth pastor and was crying and whining every hole, so on 7 I told him I'd had enough to shut up and play. He didn't so, after the 8th green I drove the cart all the way past the 9th tee box, straight to the truck, took the clubs out and we went home. Not a word was uttered all the way to the house. You will laugh about this some day. My son was 13 (20 years ago) and we were playing on the 11th hole and he was just off the green in 2 on a par four. He chipped over the green, did it again and then chili dipped and he just started screaming profanities and then gave me that "uh-oh" look as I was giving him my I'm gonna "kick your butt" look. I took him straight to the car and we went home. The silence was the same as yours. We laugh about it today when we play. By the way I do cuss a little, when playing, but I had never around him. Golf will make anyone use profanity.

June 25, 201313 yr That's classic! Yes it was. The odd thing was he was not a kid that got angry a lot and still doesn't. He is the most composed kid of the lot, the youngest is on the other end of the spectrum. He did end up playing for Scott HS and was a decent high school golfer, was a medalist a couple of times his senior year. The best thing about golf is that he and I have played a lot over the years and it never gets old. Golf is something that really bonds us.
July 19, 201313 yr Played Legendary Run today for the first time with 3 frat brothers from my Morehead days. Very nice course, although it was brutally hot. Shot a 92 from the blues, not bad considering I hadn't played in 3 weeks due to vacation and work. 4 penalty shots the main culprit for being 3 over my handicap. All in all had a blast with the old guys.
August 16, 201313 yr Author So anyone been taking advantage of the cool weather? Unfortunately I've not been able to play near as much as I wanted to this year. hoping to get in some in the next couple of weeks.
August 16, 201313 yr Played Tuesday night and filled in as a sub for the men's league tonight at the Club. Beautiful evening tonight for sure. The ground has been pretty hard so my drives have been excellent.
August 16, 201313 yr On Tuesday night I almost eagled #14 at Highland Country Club. Its a Par 4 about 390 yards downhill with a lot of room but woods on the left. If you drive on 471 North and glance to your right you see the green and the long fairway. I crushed a nice 250 yrd drive down the left side of the fairway. About 140 yards out I grabbed an 8 iron and with the hole tucked in the back left corner of the green I flew one about 12 inches from the hole just missing an Eagle. Tap in Birdy was beautiful. Here is the pic of the divot I left and where the ball ended up.
August 16, 201313 yr ..........Q, great shot! I've played there a million times and know that hole well -- although I've never hit one in there quite that close. Side-note: the closest I've ever come to an Ace was on #2 there (1"). Fun course and that is an awesome picture!
August 17, 201313 yr Author Anyone tried out any new clubs they'd like to speak about? The last clubs that I heard everyone raving about were the RBZ clubs, and that was last year. Anything close to those right now?
