Coach Campbell did an excellent job of holding the team together through a really tough period. Two seasons ago summer practices and half the games were at Dixie. Finding any kind of practice space at Scott that season was difficult. Last summer the kids had to lift weights for most of the summer with camping lights as there was no electricty or water in the old Eagles nest. This winter the kids had to lift weights in a cramped garage with portable heaters. The new facilites opened up a couple of months ago and are incredible and the stadium is the best in Northern Kentucky. The team on the field this year will be one of the best in quite a few years. The schedule should provide the Eagles a good shot at having a winning season and should make the playoffs again.

I don't think I'm going out on a limb here but I won't be surprised to see Scott knock off Dixie this year.

You're kidding! When was the last time this happened? I can't remember. Of course, I obviously didn't check out a schedule for DHHS but I thought it was a given that all 3 KC schools always played each other.

Dixie and SK weren't on Scott's schedule last year either. Now that Scott is 5a and went to a new district, there wasn't room on the schedule for SK and Dixie especially with Dixie moving to 6a. It would be nice for all the Schools to play, but really Dixie and SK most years will be too much for Scott to handle. Of course is more of those Edgewood kids that are in Scott's district that choose instead to go to Dixie would stay in District.........

That's what I don't get, what was the thought that he was going to do. For peats sake it was SCOTT. Program was at one of its lowest points in years, and had to play Cov Cath and Highlands once a year. At best he could have turned them into mediocre. Just cause some guy has had a good College coaching career doesn't make him the next thing to sliced bread. Tony Dungy couldn't have turned Scott into a state championship team during those first few years.

People would be shocked to see what Highlands has to work with when it comes to facilities..They are definately some of the worst in NKy...I think they do ok..

What exactly did you expect him to do in 4 years? This is a program that last year for only the SECOND time ever scored more points than it gave up. This has been an awful program forever, and now is at least somewhat competitive, and now a place where kids are deciding to go to play football. No one could have won with the players that he's had to work with. However, he got a bunch of undersized kids with very little talent to play hard. Teams might have beat them badly, but they weren't a fun team to play because they got after you. Ask Johnson Central how much fun it was to play Scott. They even gave Highlands a hard time 2 years ago before they ran out of gas. Again, they won't win any state titles anytime soon, but they will be competitive. That's something they've never been.

Youc could say that Campbellmad this years team competitivebut the two previous years he had 2 wins, and has now equaled the win total ofFisk's last year. I think a fair question would be why was Fisk fired for sharing an almost identical record, but Campbell seemed to skate by and even gain praise from the fans?

Scott was outscored 258-290 last year.

I was referring to the regular season. Take away the playoff game they out scored opponents 237-234.

Wow, I need to pay much more attention. I just haven't been since my son graduated. However, I do like to take in a few HS games each year. Friday nights in the Fall, football is in the blood.
