83rd MLB All Star Game

Featured Replies

Chipper isn't deserving? The All-Star game is a popularity contest anyway. Granted he's missed some games but he is still hitting the ball very well. You don't think they would do the same for Jeter if he was in the same situation his final season?

No uproar for letting a retired manager manage the team?

Not this year. I don't have a problem with him him playing but make a spot for him and don't take a spot from someone else.

Do the same for Jeter in his last year if he doesn't get voted in.

Personally I don't think tony should manage the team.

I've never liked fans voting in allstars. Most tend to vote for their home team guys, don't research what type of year any other player is having outside the team they are a fan of. It's a popularity contest and not a true allstar game so the larger metropolitan areas get more votes for their guys. Also, tying the world series home team to the game is a joke. This game hasn't been much since the 70s.

As much as I dislike that manager, he earned that spot by the way the choose their managers from last season. Chipper has not earned his spot this year from the way they choose reserves (based on number, not popularity).

Which is why Dan Uggla at 2B bothers me so much. No way he should be starting over Brandon Phillips. And to show that I'm not just a Reds homer...there's no way he should be starting over Altuve either. The guy's a second basemen batting .229 with nearly a 100 K's at the break...and he's your starter?!? Come on fans, you blew this one.

I'm excited to see the game in Kansas City. I was there a couple years ago not long after the 2009 renovation was finished. It's a really interesting stadium and they did a great job with the renovations. Definitely deserves a national spotlight.

They need to change that rule. I wonder what the rule is if the manager takes a job in the other league.

Jake Peavy is under consideration for the game with a 6-5 record.

14 out of 16 starts were QS. ERA is 2.96 .

2 CG Ls where he gave up 1 ER.

W-L's are an awful indicator of pitcher performance.

Matt Holliday is 34 for his last 67 and has great numbers. Would like to see him added if anyone has to e replaced.should have replaced Kemp.

It's the Rangers vs. National League. Rangers have 8 players, that's most. Cardinals have 5 that's second. The rest have 4 or less. 3 of the 8 Rangers are Starters. 3 of the 4 Yanks are starters.

Matt Cain get's the nod for the National League

He's pretty good. Lol. Very good pick

LaRussa was still carping about Dusty in today's press conference.
