What the media didn't tell us about Trayvon Martin

If your point is to show that the media didn't report everything, OK.

If you're trying to use these "facts" to show guilt or innocence it failed.

I don't know, it also worked pretty well from the "black culture is confusing and scary" angle.

I hated every sentence of that article. It was downright painful to read. Maybe if he wasn't so busy being completely mystified by black people, he could have gotten his point across there.

The fact that this thing is getting 'tried' in the media is a travesty. Let the system do its job. The error was putting this case into the system early on and letting it become the spectacle it now is.

Some of the leaps and innuendos this guy takes in the storyline are ridiculous.

Martin could have easily never had this happen to him.
Yeah, he could've tried that whole "be white" thing. Never fails.

I didn't get the "mystified by black people" from that article that your talking about. What do you mean? I really just don't know what you meant.

Agree, there are very few facts pertaining to this case that he mentions that are disputed, it his opinions and interpretations that take the big jump trying to show guilt.

I think he means that the writer in a round about way says it is okay for Zimmerman to kill Trayvon because according to Trayvon's Facebook page he acts like a typical dead end black kid who was up to no good.

That's what I got from the article anyways. Getslow may be meaning something else but I understand what Getslow is saying. The writer has his own preconceived notions about Trayvon.

Thanks PP92, I see what you are saying. He does take many leaps in his article interjecting his opinion instead of facts....typical journalist :p

Yeah, when I finished reading I felt more sad than anything else. I understand the racial implications in this situation and they shouldn't be taken lightly. If people would ignore the racial implications you still having a grown man killing an unarmed kid and a law that may possibly support this killing.

Just showing what was printed by the media, I don't know who is guilty of what and I am not trying to show any side. I do however feel it could have been avoided by both parties.

I thought the time line was interesting to see.

Another thing, the media has already shown their true colors in trying to make it a racial killing by making a cut up of the 9-11 call and the injuries to Zimmermann, plus only showing Trayvon as a little innocent boy picture.

It's worked for me for going on 57 years now, I'm still here. Must be the plaid shorts, natural awkwardness when I try to walk from one side of the patio to the other, and my unabashed love of classic rock.

Everybody and their brother wants to get their concealed carry permit these days. That's all well and good and I'm most certainly pro gun rights and all for protecting yourself and your family. Just remember that at the moment you decide to pull that trigger, you better dang sure be able to articulate a justifiable reason why you felt in fear of your life . . . . .

What a great lede. At least it let me know I didn't have to read further.
