Outstanding now for NCC to come back thursday and win and maybe just maybe, no I am not going to say it.

Again not bad for an area that many throughout the Commonwealth say doesn't play quality baseball. Way to go Stangs

Agreed 100%.

No big surprise here though, sounds like Brossart came out with an "St X Who" attitude and took advantage of situations when given.

Good luck to the Stangs!!!!

I got some buddies out there at BB and I know those dads are real proud and excited. Good for them............:thumb:

Very proud moment. As a former Brossart baseballer this means a lot! Keep it going, Mustangs!

10-0 Record for Verst is pretty good. :D Amazing he's not considered one of the top pitchers in the region by some.

I know nothing about him. Does he throw hard? Good offspeed pitches? Good control? What year is he?

Goldie: You are too good to me. Those are incredible. Nate Verst is one tough, gritty sophomore.

If pictures speak a thousand words, the one of him celebrating and the one of my buddy Zack (Tyler) Martin say it all.

Thanks

BlueKrush it's on you if they don't make it, as tradition tells the player/fan/coaches that no one can talk about a no-hitter or the next game! :walk:

That fine, it's always on me, I can take it. I'd love to see it happen and am happy for both teams. If it does happen, and you are not going to Lexington, I think it would be great if everyone went to St. Joe's 5pm Mass on Sat to watch the 2 worlds collide!

There may not be a soul there...

Wow.

Congratulations to Coach Verst and the Mustangs! Good luck in the semis!

Thought you and the rest of you all at ball camp would enjoy them. I agree, people can tell you about the game, but a picture really captures the moment. There were more pictures around (13), but I had trouble posting the ones I did. If you go to the link under the pictures, you can view all of them.....enjoy my friend!!!!!

It would be great if NC or Brossart made the championship game. If BOTH? Look out at the next fish fry!

I hope everyone gets to experience watching their team play in the finals. My son was a frosh in 2002 when CCH won it and it was a great, great time down there.

So I assume pitcher Nate Verst is the head coach's son?

Neither BB or NCC is my team, but if it turns out to be an all-NKY final, I'm heading down. Neat place to watch a ballgame anyways.

I'm not saying that Brossart is a Cinderella story but word out of Lexington has Coach Verst working on the "picket fence" play for the Final 4 games?

So I assume pitcher Nate Verst is the head coach's son?

He is not; different Verst family.

Nate's a competitor. Gotta love the fire he brings on the field. Haven't had that much intensity at Brossart in a while. I can't believe the Mustangs are in the Semi-Finals of state. Unbelievable. Really happy for the coaches that have been there forever( Verst, Lloyd, Grosser). All great guys who deserve this. As an alum, I'm extremely proud of these guys. Keep making history and win the 'ship baby.
