True. But with the way your posts are perceived then I should be just as appalled at all Christians even though these crazy preachers with snakes and homophobic hate filled remarks represent a small portion of Christians.

In the case of this guy. He is described as a regional leader. I don't proclaim to know how high that title is, but when one of an organization's leaders is saying these things, it's not a huge stretch to believe that some significant part of the organization feels that way.

Those would be the fringe extremists for Muslims. It's my understanding that Muslims are a peaceful religion. There are 1.5 billion Muslims in the world. 22-24% of the world population. Second largest religion in the world and apparently the fastest growing religion in the world. The true Islamic followers do not like to be associated with Islamic followers that use violence as a means to convey their message and faith to the masses anymore than true Christians. The media is not going to show the good followers of Islam anymore than they'll show the good followers of Christianity. They're doing good deeds. That's not newsworthy. It's much easier to speak on the negative regardless of their faith and it's natural for Americans to hear the bad about the Muslim faith and label them all bad when in all actuality a large percentage of them are just as peaceful as a large percentage of Christianity. When it comes to Americans and Muslims it's easy to let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Especially with our history. As for the Muslim who was the regional leader I guess that those who have the most money will be the ones with the most power. While he may be in power he obviously isn't a proper representative of the Muslim faith.

I have several Muslim friends. They are some of the nicest, respectful, proud, intellegent people I know.

PP92, I agree with all that you said, but then again, I don't think we can just bury our head in the sand and ignore what the radical element of the Muslim faith is doing either, particularly if we are worried that such element may be growing.

 

I don't damn every Muslim because of the actions of the radical Muslims any more than I would damn every Catholic because of the actions of the Priests who did wrong. But exposing what the Priests did was necessary and good. It help curb (and hopefully stop) the abuse. By exposing what the radical Muslims do, hopefully it will help stop the growth of the radical elements and hopefully it will undermine the message of the leaders of the radical elements.

I don't disagree with exposing them or anything you said in your post. I was just trying to convince mtref that all Muslims aren't as bad as the ones we hear about. His posts sometimes seem to imply that all Muslims are violent and radical followers of Allah and that isn't the case by far.

Sorry, should've clarified. Outside of the Louisville, NoKy and Owensboro area, as well as the "Catholic Corridor" that goes through Nelson, Marion and Washington counties, the rest of the state is 90 percent Baptist, or more. The small towns, where nobody's got enough numbers to keep them in check.

Good or bad, I would just like to hear of Muslims condemning these attacks. I can guarantee if a Muslim was beheaded by or just this so called profiled by a Christian group they would be screaming racism, ACLU, CAIR and making the media demand apologies and justice, but for some reason it don't work the other way.
