We are teetering at the edge of the perilous slope of eugenics. In our society, babies are being treated like pet goldfish: Don't like what you got? Flush it down the toilet!

Except the whole debate is a red herring.

No, it's the truth of where we are now. People are looking for designer babies, and we are rapidlly developing the technology to give them just that.

Of course in the meantime, we can just pitch out the units that have blemishes, don't meet our production schedule or come in the worng style. They're cheap to make, so we can just keep the adssembly line rolling until we hit on exactly the perfect product for our lifestyle. That one, we'll keep!

Right there with you. That perfect baby girl that you wanted to be a boy? Right now she is an academic rock star at GSP Bellarmine. She wants to be a pediatrician One more thing, we were hoping that she would be a boy. Unanswered prayers.
