May 22, 201214 yr And from my days as a young naive dirty footed hippie liberal I am still a registered Democrat. I can proudly say that I still have not EVER voted for Obama. That Mr. Uncommitted looked like the best guy to me.
May 22, 201214 yr Am I the only one who thinks that everyone would be better off if the polls closed a little later, say 7pm or 8pm? Call me a bad American, but there was no way I would be able to get to the polls before work, and honestly with traffic, I will be really surprised if I can make it to where I'm registered by 6pm tonight.

I would be for that, 8pm seems reasonable to me.

I think it should be on Saturday too.
May 22, 201214 yr Can't argue with the Saturday concept at all. School's out today (for the students - not the teachers) in Mason County because it's a polling place. Makes tomorrow the final day for students.
May 22, 201214 yr You woudl have thought after all these years, someone important would have wanted to keep them open later or change it to a Saturday.
May 22, 201214 yr Saturday's not a bad idea at all. As a registered Republican in Pendleton County, there were only two things I could vote for: President & 4th Congressional seat. Cast my ballot for everybody's crazy uncle Ron Paul & Alecia Webb-Edgington.
May 22, 201214 yr I think voting should be a prerequisite to post in this forum. And yes, I voted...for Alecia Webb-Edgington. :thumb:

May 22, 201214 yr AllTell, why do you remain registered as a Democrat? I can't speak for All Tell, but most people I know register Democrat so they can have a say in local elections (Judge Executive, Sheriff, Magistrates, etc.).

May 22, 201214 yr I'm not allowed to vote today. Sure you are. All races for judge are non-partisan and they have ballots just for you disenfranchised voters.

I guess it's dependent upon where you reside. In neighboring Lewis County, for example, a Democrat has about as much chance of winning a local election as mountain ref has of being named President of the Michelle Obama Fan Club.
