May 17, 201214 yr I'm not watching but Latos appears to be battling his control sometimes. Still pretty good. 3 IP and 5 K's. 56 pitches is a bit much.
May 17, 201214 yr Latos continues to struggle with high pitch counts, 56 through 3 innings. He has to go deeper in ballgames if he is to be considered a quality #2 on this team.

The impact of a # 5 starter pales in comparison to how anemic the Reds are offensively. I'm sure if the Reds had someone available that has been productively offensively as Chapman has been pitching we would be debating that player, and why he isn't starting.

I don't care how many runs you are scoring if you have the chance to upgrade you do it.

I will still stand by my statement that run production has been far and away the problem with the Reds so far this season. Even Chapman won't win many of the games where they score 1 or 2. He most definetely won't win any where they are blanked. And we are all assuming he will be a stud as a starter. That is yet to be seen. Not saying he won't. But you all are painting him as the next Bob Gibson.
May 17, 201214 yr His knuckler moves nothing like Wakefields did in its day, but its a knuckler nonetheless and most hitters have not seen one very often...Its still very effecfive...Catchers couldnt even catch the Wakefield knuckler though it danced all over the place...
