May 17, 201214 yr Ohio State fan cracking jokes on run ins with the law to anyone on the planet? Priceless... Our coaches and players paid for their crimes. Our coach didn't rant for 20 minutes about being from the school that invented Benadryl to pass down a slap on the hand. Huggs is long gone but the players aren't and likely never will be.

Huggs is long gone but the players aren't and likely never will be. If there is a crime, the UC players involved will do the same. At this point there isn't and the facts are that the now fired bouncer created the trouble. Will someone from UC pay the legal price for coming to the aid of a teammate being choked out by said bouncer, we'll see. Now learn the facts before you assume anything. Next...

It's nothing personal. I thought things would change and really hoped it would for the city after Huggs but we still seem to find UC bball in the national spotlight for bad reasons. I was happy the football team dealt with Teague properly hats off to Butch, I guess we have to wait and see if this goes anywhere and see what actions are taken.

I was happy the football team dealt with Teague properly hats off to Butch, I guess we have to wait and see if this goes anywhere and see what actions are taken. Again. This is the FIRST run in with the law for the basketball program in 6 years. And at this point there aren't any charges for very valid reasons. If one does come up, I can totally see why, but the reality is a bouncer was looking for trouble, started an altercation and then got the business end of it before trying to get his 15 minutes of "fame". That is the situation. One UC player threw a punch while the bouncer had his teammate in a MMA submission hold. If said player gets charged, it will be the FIRST such incident since Cronin took over. Go back to the drawing board...
May 17, 201214 yr I sense that John Anthony is still referring to the brawl, especially with the comment about the National Spotlight for bad reasons.
May 17, 201214 yr I sense that John Anthony is still referring to the brawl, especially with the comment about the National Spotlight for bad reasons. Then he is making yet another irrelevant point...
May 18, 201214 yr If I was Ellis I'd wonder if sanctions are coming my way. No surprise. Joe Danneman @FOX19Joe Mick Cronin announces that Octavius Ellis has been dismissed from team.

May 18, 201214 yr No surprise. Hopefully he finds a new school and can get his anger management issues under control. Kid has had a rough life, but needs to grow up... Is he the kid that punched the bouncer that was choking his teammate?
May 18, 201214 yr Yup... So why the dismissal? You can't just sit by and watch your teammate get choked.
May 18, 201214 yr No surprise. Hopefully he finds a new school and can get his anger management issues under control. Kid has had a rough life, but needs to grow up... None of us would want to live through what he has.
May 18, 201214 yr So why the dismissal? You can't just sit by and watch your teammate get choked. After his involvement in the Xavier brawl he was on a zero tolerance policy. He was in violation of that, and there was no choice but to remove him from the program. Look, Ellis is a good kid who has had a brutal past that included seeing his stepfather shoot and kill his mother at point blank range. He has a long history of anger management issues stemming from that, and hopefully he will see the light and get his life headed in a positive direction. The problem is you simply can't wait around for the shoe to drop a 3rd time...
May 18, 201214 yr None of us would want to live through what he has. I really like Octavious, and it breaks my heart to see him in this situation. His grandmother is a wonderful person, and I know this is a big blow to their family...
