When I went to the website i got the feeling it was open for anyone with a hundred bucks. I figured they invited top talent as a way to get coaches there which would in turn bring better talent and more money. I thought maybe the invitees got in free.

WOW! Didn't see that coming, didn't intend to either, just stating facts, and Thanks TOG! Having been around AAU for just over 20 years (actually had one of the very first club type AAU teams in the state, before the 90's it was Jr Semi-Pro teams) you tend to see things how they really are. AGAIN, not saying kids won't get noticed here!

I did the same a few days ago, said I had a kid who was injured all of this year, had ok stats and he wanted a chance to get noticed by some colleges, they called yesterday and said to come on up. This was just before the Cincy camp, so I guess it was too late to email me.

Unfortunately this type of marketing is common. There are many "elite camps" that try to make the invitee feel special as a means to get them to pay for/attend the camp. Many have paid for their kids to attend an elite camp only to get there and see that there are many unelite in attendance.

Nothing bit anyone. The showcase was exactly what it was suppose to be and there were alot of kids there that had d1 schools following them. Had three coach's talk to us while there. So it was a good experience. Unless you was there how would you know?
