Roger Ayers as one of the officials at the Final Four.

Featured Replies

Roger Ayers is one of the officials at the Final Four. He is one of the ref's who let 6 players on the floor to beat Western during the regular season. Do you think the teams, players and coaches deserve better? Your thoughts.

Are you serious? Glad to see the NCAA holds officials to the same standards as the rest of the organization.

Absolute joke. Proves what I've always thought about John Adams (supervisor of officials for the NCAA). He is a believer in the "good 'ol boy" system.

Something else to think about; John Adams is a HUGE Ohio St. fan and can't stand UK. Just keep that in mind.

How do you know that?

I have connections. I'll just leave it at that.

I'm not going to gripe about it too much because people make mistakes. However, with that being said, I am suprised by this.

Didn't he "T" Cal up a day or two after that game from across the floor when Cal was walking back to the bench. It could have been someone else, but I remember the announcer calling that official out for having rabbit ears.

Tell me that Jamie Luckie is not one of the Final 4 officials:eek:.

That's him.

Bad news, Luckie will be there. Here's a list of the officials working:

Pat Adams

Roger Ayers

Joe DeRosa

Tom Eades

Verne Harris

Les Jones

Jamie Luckie

Doug Shows

Mike Stuart

Mark Whitehead

That's him.

I hate to say this, but if Luckie does a UK game, I will take the points and the opponent. Can a coach blackball an official? If so, I don't think Kentucky will see him.

I don't claim to know much about individual officials. But I do strongly believe that the ability to count to 6 should be a prerequisite for calling a basketball game.

No "scratching" at the collegiate level.

For an official to miss 6 players being on the court, and still draw a Final Four assignment is a sad, sad reflection on how bad college officiating must be.

There are some really good officials out there, I promise, but they haven't "brown-nosed" enough to get to this level. College officiating is as political of politics itself. Very, very sad.

You listed 10 officials. So it's already determined who will be working the championship game? That just tells the other officials it doesn't matter how bad or good they are in the semi final game, someone else already has the championship assignment.

Pretty much.

There are 4 officials on each game (3 on the floor and 1 alternate). So there will be some guys "work" more than one game and I guess there could possibly be somebody not be on the floor at all.

It's a joke and the NCAA and Adams have ZERO credibility after some of these assignments.

I do think Adams, Eades, Shows and Whitehead are good officials however. But Ayers' and Luckie's "suckiness" overshadows this fact.
