Why a must win against Ryle? If Boone beats SK its automatic for Conner in the playoffs, lousy seed, but an automatic(No district wins for SK except Cooper. Am I wrong about this? If Boone wins, this gives Conner a couple extra weeks to recoup.

BCF pretty much got that right. When West went down it was something like 3rd and 40, then a safety, 32-28. Conner was pretty much done at this point. I don't know how many yards they had in penalties total, but the plays that were called back probably totalled a couple hundred yards.

I don't mean to take anything from the Dixie boys, they played hard and they hit hard, which I must admit was nice to see So congrats to them and good luck.

I think the score was 28-30 with maybe eight minutes left when this fiasco took place.

From my untrained (and slightly biased) eyes the calls seemed very one sided. You could almost guarantee everytime Conner got more than a couple yards there was a flag for something (mostly holding). Not many calls against Dixie. It was a close game until the fourth quarter, Conner had one long play called back for holding, then another holding call and then a 70ish yard touchdown pass called back for, you guessed it HOLDING. West got hurt, third and 40 then a safety. The wind was out of the Cougers sails. Maybe the holds were blatant, I don't know, but you could probably call holding on every play ever played in football.

39-28, unless Dixie scored in the last minute and a half.

I don't know what final score the officials decided on, but it was bad. West is at the hospital, Dockery is hurt and maybe Vargo.

After that game, I would have rather been home sick with the flu.

I say we keep talking about the PA announcers and noise makers. The plays being stolen is pretty cut and dry, it is cheating, the chain gang guys should be taken to task by the coach and then return them to the other teams coach. There Train back on the tracks.

I was at a game last night and the P.A. annoucer was not quiet for more than the time it took the play to happen. He welcomed friends, family, family's kids, sponsers, alumni, etc. along with giving kudos to the players after every play and getting the stands to make noise in critical situations. It got to the point that I felt as if I had been abused by the announcer along with our team. They had a large speaker pointed at the crowd and another pointed directly at the opposing team's sidelines. This announcer had less class than any announcer I have ever heard, he thought he was the color man on the radio. There must be some kind of rules governing the amount of noise an announcer can make, or both teams should have an announcer.

All due respect to Prof. Clyde and to Clydesfan22, but I don't think it is being thin skinned. He said that Conner had no talent, that is what upset people. So I suppose it is a "fact" that Conner has no talent. Maybe if that is not what was meant by his posts then he should stop saying "I stand by my posts".

Your opinion about who has talent is irrelevant. Conner knows they have talent. Let's remember we're talking about high school kids here. I'm sure every school has their share of talent, but wins and loses games. Don't count the Cougars out. One loss to the Camels does not mean Conner is done for the season. If anything, it will only fire the team up for the remainder of the season.

Just wanted to dust off this topic for a minute if I might. Is there any rule/ethics code that discusses P.A announcers. Maybe a being a little too much like a home team fan over the load speaker that just happens to be pointed at the visitor sideline. Seemed a lot like blaring music during a hostage crisis.

By the way, Conner wins by a couple td's. Also didn't Campbell County have a player that was ejected last Friday? Was he an impact player that will be greatly missed tomorrow?

Sorry so late, but that other person has a point about Conner's defense. They have played against Cooper, Miles Simpson and Charles Quaino(sp). I would imagine the defense against CC would be considerably different than what was seen against SK or BC. That is unless CC has someone they are saving for a "special occasion";)

If anyone cares, I understand why a coach would enjoy seeing what others are saying about the sport they are obviously passionate about. I also understand that they would like to chime in and get into the discussions. I would not understand any coach criticizing any member of their team or the team at all. This to me would be team business and team business only, to be discussed in the coaches office or locker room. That is all.

I am sorry but without Simpson there is no offense. He is such a huge threat that in order to shut him down you must sacrifice a lot of your defense. This leaves a lot of room for anyone to run.
