NKY 6A 1st round playoff matchups?

Featured Replies

Boone, Ryle, Campbell, and Conner look to make it. What four teams will they play in round 1?

Doesn't district 7 have only four teams? Henry Clay, Lafayette, Dunbar and Tates Creek?

Looking forward to seeing different teams in the first round.

The Lexington district seeds should go:

1 Lafayette

2 Henry Clay

3 Tates Creek

4 Dunbar

With Conner beating Ryle it is not set. I believe if Campbell beats Simon Kenton they will be the 2 seed. But if they lose to Simon Kenton, SK gets the 4 and Campbell is out.

This is all confusing but could you explain why you say that if Campbell beats Simon they would be the 2 seed. I think it might also come down to who beats NCC correct or am I looking way ahead?

If Ryle beats Boone, they would be the 1 seed (head to head)

If Boone beats Ryle, they would be the 1 seed (head to head)

A Ryle loss would put them at 3-2, Conner is also 3-2, Conner has TB (head to head)

If SK beats Campbell, they would be no better than the 4 sead

If Campbell beats SK, and Ryle loses to BC, it will be a three way tie for 2nd. I believe the tiebreaker then is total wins by best four teams on your schedule, the team that has played the 4 highest winning teams would be the higher seed. After that point, I'm not sure if they use the same TB to seed the remaining two teams, or if they use head to head. Someone please correct if this is incorrect.

So where does overall record come into play, if at all, in a 3 way tie?

Nevermind, I answered my own question.

It doesn't, if one of the 3 teams has victories over the other two, they are in. I guess the more victories a team has is an advantage since they will have more teams to pick from for their top 4 opponents.

To add to that, it has to be non-district teams that you beat correct?

I am pretty sure the answer to that is yes.

How will the playoff's work? Will #1 play the #4 from the other District and so-forth

My head hurts just trying to follow all of this. It's a good thing I am not in charge of the playoff brackets.
