  1. Even in down years the GCL teams have been much better than the KY teams.
  2. Over 2000 kids at McCracken Under 500 kids at Mayfield. Impressive win.
  3. I didn't get to go tonight, but SC was on the 13 yard line with like 20 seconds to go but couldn't convert on 4th down. Must have been a heck of a game.
  4. These people are pathetic. Who would be offended by the photos? People in denial? It never ceases to amaze me the situations that innocent kids are forced to go back to.... And I just see it from the educational perspective. I wish schools had the freedom to publicize incidents like this and educate the general public (who is clueless to these injustices for the most part). So much should be done to this ignorant fool parents... It makes my blood boil.
  5. I had to look it up - but yes! Dr. Seuss knew long ago.
  6. I can't remember where I heard or read this, but at the moment, I can't think of a better solution... "You know what's going to solve the problem of racism? Sex. To clarify: interracial sex. When we bang each other enough that people start looking like Tiger Woods with a little bit of black, a little white, and a little asian in them - that's when racism will end."
  7. Just a side note - Georgetown College Men's Basketball has always (as long as I can remember) plays the anthem at the 8:30 mark during warm ups when teams both go to the locker room for final prep. Edit - this is for regular season games only. I believe in the tournament they play the anthem with both teams on the floor just before tip off.
  8. There has to be a partnership between school and home. Schools play a big role, but the parent/family role is vital. There are some success stories where kids overcame horrible home lives because of a teacher or even more often because of an inner drive within the child. But there are far more stories of kids who falls right back into the cycle of poverty/bad choices/etc. in spite of the opportunities that a good education offers - and often because of the examples they see at home.
  9. As long as it is peaceful I support the right to do it. In no way, shape, or form do I support the violent or destructive protests. I don't support the riots. I don't support standing in the middle of the interstate. I'm good with the peaceful act of kneeling or sitting. However, just because I'm good with the act doesn't mean I can't give an opinion on the protest itself. I find the socks offensive.
  10. Good stuff here. I agree with him: The way the white animals were treated in those situations was wrong! IMO they should have been shot on the spot, not taken to Burger King or permitted to gnaw on another person's face. I agree with him: It's going to take real integration... housing, workplace, and education. I agree with him: Don't give a handout because a person is black, but don't hold it against him.
  11. I hope the officers in San Fran sit down when CK is introduced - in protest of his socks. I support peaceful protest.
  12. It was amazing to me the lengths people would go to to avoid the $3 admission price to a middle school game. Some would sneak in. Some would argue that the prices were outrageous. Some would try to claim free and reduced status. Ridiculous.
  13. I wonder if they let Jim have a part in the process. Being the AD I would think he would have had a say, but since he was so close to the situation with his own former assistants as candidates I would guess the Conner administration made this decision.
  14. One of the News Graphic posts says Glenn Covington was ejected from the game but doesn't say why. He's very competitive but usually composed. I wonder what happened.
  15. Per Gtown News Graphic: Jacob Burton 5 yd TD. Scott Co 42 HHS 27. 7:48 left in the game.
  16. Per Gtown News Graphic - Davis scored on a 1 yard TD. PAT good. 35-27 Scott Co with 1:06 left in the 3rd quarter.
  17. Preston had the world at his fingertips and just continues to screw it up.
